Thanks again! I'll definately consider the intercooler before the transmission cooler after monitoring the new temps like you said.I haven’t been up to that speed yet, but I’ve seen it posted elsewhere that it was not removed.
You’re welcome! This thread has been the biggest mess I’ve ever seen…
After driving the truck several times, I can say that I would absolutely buy the tune again without hesitation! The transmission seems much more intelligent. It holds gears longer when necessary - I felt the truck often short shifted when under load - more specifically when accelerating normally or just a bit more aggressively than that. The shifts are also more crisp but not so much so that they are harsh. As for whether the transmission will handle the torque, I don’t foresee that being an issue. You have to remember that there’s a safety factor built in to the published ratings. Unless you’re going to abuse the truck regularly on a drag strip with a prepped surface, you should be fine.
I personally don’t plan to get a transmission cooler - I don’t use the truck often enough in extreme cases where I feel it would be necessary or beneficial. For the time being though, I’ll keep my transmission temp gauge on the dashboard. I do plan on a larger intercooler though. If you haven’t run one on an EcoBoost motor before, you will absolutely love it!
