Recieved mine today, and installed right away. For reference I own an ASE independent shop, and I am a former Ford dealer tech, so I do mine myself, but, ANYBODY could do this...there's literally no way to screw it up. Unlike Bronco, it worked properly right out of the box. Also I DID notice that when saving the stock cal it also saved the steering rack cal...this leads me to believe we will be getting the FP steering rack soon, and can use procal to program it (although on Bronco that has been hit and miss...w/emphasis on miss!).

1st thing you are gonna want to do, if you have never had one of these, is start an account on performanceparts.ford.com and assign your voucher code to that account. Then if you are having a 3rd party install for you, give them those credentials (email, password, voucher code). After that it's very simple. Connect the blank procal to the desktop w/procal software installed. Allow it to check and update firmware (while still blank). Once done attach the procal to vehicle OBD port and allow it to save stock cal (does it automatically from the "programming" tab). It will marry itself to the vehicle's VIN at this point. Then, return the procal to the desktop where the desktop tool will upload the stock cal, and prompt you for your login credentials for Ford Performance. If everything is correct it will burn your credit for the tune, and download the tune to the procal. Device is now married and loaded w/the tune software. Then back to the OBD port and (best to have a jump box on the battery just in case), flash the performance cal...takes about 10 minutes.

Dealer just got mine. Matching Levittown price of $662. They're installing it for an hrs labor.
Nice !
Looking forward to hearing how you like it.
I am planning to install mine myself at home, I am not really worried about the warranty stuff everyone is talking about on here.
I don't think it has anything involved that I will have any trouble with.
I have been using my Land Rover GAP tool for multiple reprogramming task setting up my new Defender. I imagine is a pretty similar process.
Had lots of Diesel tuners over the years as well.
It can't be that big a deal, I think they are just trying to help the dealers make buck.

spoke with Ford performance. Any ASE (red seal if canada) mechanic can install this to obtain the 3 year powertrain warranty. if you do this yourself and are not certified, you "can" and most likely will be denied any powertrain warranty from Ford

No, you’ll only be denied warranty on the Ford Performance part and the tune. It doesn’t affect your Ford warranty in any way.👍🇺🇸

Thanks for the write up, Where does the Ford Dealer/ASE part come in? How do they know it was done by a Ford Dealer/ASE mechanic?

You have to register your Vin and the ASE installer with Ford Performance to keep your 3 year power train warranty

Just going based off what Ford Performance told me. Any one can call them tomorrow with any questions they have, really nice guy I spoke to.

Short answer is they don't, and likely don't care...it's called an "out". If you come in w/a connecting rod sticking out the side of your block they are gonna try and get out of warrantying that any way possible...tune or no. Save your receipt, or have one made up. Only time I had the Bronco in under warranty, they called me and asked if it had a tune on it (the Ford Performance sticker was a clue). Don't think the tech checked or cared, but there was a reflash for the PCM which I told them not to do because then I would have to reinstall the tune

I did already email them and asked for a definitive answer several weeks ago. The warranty is on the Procal Tool and tune. Has nothing to do with the factory warranty or extended warranty. Read post #170, it explains it all from his supervisor at Ford Performance.👍🇺🇸

To each their own. I'll have a ASE certified mechanic perform my install.

Received my package from Lethal Performance today. Shipped quick and they were super easy to deal with. Did the initial setup with a little help from a Ford tech. I have an appointment tomorrow with Livernois to do the final installation. I will report back tomorrow with butt dyno results.

Read this part 6 more times. Maybe it will sink in.

"However. The installation of any aftermarket parts can adversely impact any potential manufacturer warranty claims that are made related to or caused by that specific aftermarket part/kit installed. To cover any occurrences where that could be the case, Ford Performance Parts offers a 3 year / 36,000 mile Limited Warranty from the in service date of the vehicle when a Ford Performance Kit with warranty is purchased, installed, and registered as directed. If a manufacturer warranty claim is not related to the installation of a Ford Performance Parts kit (in this case a tune) then normal manufacturer warranty applies"

Yes, sir. This is the most important part

"Ford Performance Kit with warranty is purchased, installed, and registered as directed"

Being; installed by Ford service dept or a ASE certified mechanic.

Like I said, if you are truly concerned about your warranty and have any questions or doubts, call or email (better for your records) Ford Performance yourself and don't trust the internet.
