Is this the correct answer to the million-dollar question?
Port and direct FI. I've seen some argue that it's DFI only.

Really? So, all these posts are wrong?

Yes. It’s definitely port and direct fuel injection. Same as the Bronco. Same as the base in the current F150.
Controversy is over the 3.0 Raptor engines. Ford states in some marketing materials that it has both port and direct, but in the real world the 3.0 is only direct injection.
I have heard that the 2.7 engine (codename "Nano") -

"According to Ford (as report in Car and Driver on eh 2.7 engine) the Port Injection system is active at low RPM and low loads. As RPM increases mapping moves across to a blend of Port and Direct injection but the Port Injection always has about 10 - 15% of the fuel supply"

I also recall a video from TFL Talkin Trucks with a Ford engineer who speaks positively about it.

Ford Authority -

I am looking forward to getting mine in my 2025 Ranger order.

The new marketing material says direct injection only for the 3.0. It was a mistake when the original marketing documents were produced . Open the hood you will only find one set of injectors. The 3.0 is only direct injected . Only the 2.7 and 3.5 are dual injected. The Bronco is not. Anyone saying that is dual injected has not looked at the engine closely or doesn't know what they are looking at .

I knew about the 3.0 Raptor being DI only. You say only 2.7 and 3.5 are both, but then say Bronco is not. Is the 2.7 in 6G Ranger and Bronco different than the other 2.7s?

I took a look at my 2.7 and there is so many wires, hoses, and plastic everywhere that I can't see any injectors.

Ranger Raptor and Bronco Raptor both have the 3.0, which is direct injection only.

Non-Raptor Ranger and Bronco with the 2.7 have direct injection AND port injection.

2.3 in Ranger and Bronco are direct injection only.

And since the 3.5 doesn’t come in the bronco or the ranger, it shouldn’t matter in this forum.

13.3s yeah right, nobody is getting near these numbers in the real world. Your app is an ego booster at least.
In the event this wasn't trolling, and you are simply out of touch with modern technology...the Dragy is very accurate as long as the time shows verified or valid. Plenty of independent supporting evidence online.

A non raptor thread once again hijacked, this time by a mythical low 13' Raptor. 😂
With stock Raptors running 14.1...why do you think it is mythical to run low 13's with the Ford performance Tune? Much of the ET gained is from the ability to launch at higher RPM and under full boost.

Due to the amount of traction compound and the effect on rolling resistance, times are generally even quicker on the street since traction is not a concern at this power level.

These two times are from the same run and you can see how exaggerated the ego booster phone app is for this mythical Raptor :giggle:

PS. Once Ford releases the Performance Tune for the 2.7, I bet we'll see some of those in the low 13's too.

Thanks for this info. Traction is indeed key to successful and consistent straight line runs. I come from the high hp gt500 world. It was always interesting when folks with 800 hp at the engine struggle to get into the 12s without dealing with the need for better traction

IDK, it feels like the quarter-mile times are lack luster between all of them TBH.
2.3L = 14.8 seconds at 93 mph
2.7L = 14.5 seconds at 94 mph
RR = 14.1 seconds at 97 mph

Passing power is the only advantage really.
And probably the most useful metric - how often does one do a 1/4 mile from zero vs. passing another vehicle in traffic or on the highway? I traded my Bronco 2.3 for a Lariat 2.7 earlier this week - the 2.7 is a much better vehicle for everyday driving.
