@Truckin Thanks, pretty much in the same boat as you are, I too bought a set of those wheels, they haven't arrived at the dealership yet and my truck isn't even being built yet, so I have no way to test fit them, so for now I think I'm going to try to return them.
Is your Lariat a 4X4 FX4 package (not sure if the FX4 part makes any difference)?
I think the 265's look pretty good myself, don't want to big/heavy of a tire.

I've been asked to explain the offset issue. I've learned a lot in the last week, lol.
My stock tire and rim have 1/2" clearance between the tire and knunkle. Ford performance rim puts the tire right into it as shown below. Tremor rim gives more inner clearance and kicks the whole tire out 3/4"
  • most 24 rangers have 7.5 wide with 55mm offset.
  • Ford performance rims 8.5 wide with 55mm offset
  • Tremor ranger rims 8" wide with 42mm offset.
Pics show oem vs the rims listed above

I'm curious to see if the reduction of backspacing (+42 vs +55) will give you the clearance you need - I've seen others talking about +35mm wheels. I'm assuming that you will not be doing any sort of lift, at least initially.

Keep us posted when you get set up.
Got these wheels put on today. I transfered the Wrangler 255/70s over at Discount Tire for $90. Here is the clearance between the knuckle and tire. As expected, the section width increased from the wheel size change. Looks like about half the distance I used to have. You feel the extra inch on the wheels and how it affects the tire.

That tire is 6/10s of an inch narrower than the one 265/70 that Ford advertises online. Guessing yours has about a 1/4” gap would explain the difference.
wonder what size tire the other guy in this thread has? Still waiting on his rim offset as well

The more I researched tire sizes, it does appear that tires are a lot like clothes - one manufacturer's 32 pants are not necessarily the same as another. I also read in an interview with someone at Yokohama that production sizes can vary a typical 3% and at the extreme of up to 7%. I think most tire sites have disclaimers alluding to these variances and since the clearance is so tight when using these wheels, a couple of percent can be the difference in fitting.
Having said that, I think jumping up to 265s on these wheels is a crap shoot between manufacturers where some might even be close using a stock 8" wheel. I was expecting about a 4—5mm total change going from the 7.5" to 8.5" with the Wranglers.

Was able to test fit the ford performance vs stock ford oem.
The Ford performance 55mm rubs and can’t even force 1/16” cardboard through it.
The Ford stock oem 42mm has ~3/4” clearance between the knuckle and tire and pushes tire to the edge without poke. I have more photos for Ford engineers as they are trying to figure out why they don’t fit

@Truckin - Thanks for the posts & pics, I'm in the process of returning my Ford Performance wheels as a result of your posts. I was looking at a set of Ranger Tremor 42 mm offsets, but I would really prefer black since my "on order" Ranger will have the BAP. For now, I guess I'm going to wait and probably go 25 mm offset with either 275 or 285/70/17.

@Truckin - In your picture, they looked pretty close to me, the ones I looked at locally to my eyes the Ford Performance were a bit darker gray and the Tremor had more of a silver/lighter gray sort of. Both great looking wheels, but with BAP, I wanted to stay darker.

Tremor - Magnetic Metallic
Ford Performance - Dyno Gray

So can’t help wonder why yours fit. I have seen with Nissan they source parts out to different vendors and end up with different specs. Not sure if ford does this??
On the flip side I found another rim that fits the Ranger but is 8” with 42mm offset.
If you have a chance can you look what your offset is? It’s stamped on the inside the rim. Thanks
Sorry I have taken so long to get the information, but it's been a little cold lately. The wheel is stamped 8.5Jx17H2x55, the part number is JB3G-1007-M1A.

I know of 2 others that these rims don’t fit a 6th gen and others it’s tight but fit.
if your like me and Ford will not take them back, don’t give up!
Took them 6 weeks and a lot of work on my part but they gave the money back finally.
still out a hundred some bucks for tire shop to remount tires.
after measuring, taking photographs, Ford dealer was on my side but hands were tied.
Trick is to keep calling as the 1st level call team will refuse them.
after 3 manager level calls found one to help. Just gotta search
