I feel like anyone that says they'll be hard to get are up in the night. Even TRD Pros are EVERYWHERE. Yeah, it might be hard at first, but within a year I'm sure they'll be plenty available. Unlike the Raptor, where Ford purposely makes them limited for no other reason other than to piss customers off and keep prices artificially high.
The Pro simply offers more in my opinion, more torque and likely better fuel economy. The fact that 87 is recommended over premium is a plus too.

After seeing the interviews of the UAW workers that alone drives me to Toyota. They'd let their country burn for their own self interests.
I go back to my original thread post. I don't think UAW was ever bargaining in good faith. The strike was planned, the interviews were scheduled, etc. On top of that, I don't think the manufacturers mind a pause. They have rows of F150s that no one can afford. At least this way they can just tell the shareholders, "oh no its a strike, thats why we need to stop production." Which sounds better than "oh no, no one can buy these trucks, we need to stop production to not overwhelm our dealers."

More torque but quite a bit less horsepower. It should kill the competition on fuel economy though. I'd consider it the practical choice and I don't think you can go wrong no matter what you get on the next-gen trucks. I just feel like the Ranger Raptor is going to be an overall more fun experience though. It's going to sound better, have better suspension, and be a bit quicker.

Once those UAW emails leaked that proved they were arguing in bad faith, I think the auto makers decided to take their time with the strike. The longer it goes, the more the leverage goes back to the auto makers because the workers won't be able to afford the time off. They are also getting laid off left and right because Ford won't keep them around with the other plants on strike.

As for your theory about wanting to be on strike, I don't know if it holds water because the F150 plant has been running this whole time with no strike there yet.

My first entrance to the mid size truck market started this past August with a call to the car pro show asking Jerry the question:Taco or Ranger as I wasn’t sure yet. He convinced me to go with Ranger, with his opinion being mainly around comfort. For me coming from a Mercedes C300 sedan, that sealed it for me. Then last week as strike fever still itching me to look elsewhere, I was looking at the few pictures of the 24 taco and all I can see is the Tesla inspired screen jutting up above the dash. No thanks. Ranger still wins for me…..

I'll keep waiting. The new Tacoma is an ugly duckling...
I just hope it's built before Christmas ;)

If a TRD-Pro or TRD off road shows up on a lot near me at sticker, I'll probably jump ship.

Also keeping an eye on Rivian. If they get the R1T eligible for the full $7500 tax credit and drop prices any, I might just buy one of those.

I'm kind of in the same boat. If Tacoma ORs are in dealerships, and my Raptor hasn't been scheduled, I will at the very least go and take a look at them. And honestly, it probably won't take much to get me to walk away with one.

If you can get an Off road for 50k out the door, that pretty much saves me 16k which goes along way for customization. All just theoretically speaking of course.

The Rivian is built a couple hour south of me and a buddy at work bought one early this year. Pretty nice truck but I would probably have battery anxiety. :)

There was an article about someone who brought their Rivian for warranty work, and the job was 60k. Have fun when that truck out of warranty.

I dont think I would get a Pro. I would get an Off road. Pros are pretty much unobtainium.

Last years TRD OR is 45k + ttl is 50k

My Raptor order was 60k +ttl will be 66k

Anyone thinking about pivoting? I would be lying if I said I wasn't. It's certainly not a Raptor, but with the savings you get, you can truly make it your own. I think with the uncertainty of the strike is really compounding to my decision. First of all, I don't think UAW is actually bargaining in good faith, and I don't think the OEMs actually are in much of a hurry to settle. They all just secured financing, and they have inventory on dealer lots that are just sitting. I think a strike in production is exactly what they wanted without signaling to the shareholders that they need to stop production because of unsellable inventory.

Secondly, I am kind of hesitant about buying a Ford product, knowing that there will probably be another strike in 4 years. Right when my Raptor will need parts for warranty work, etc. What do you guys think?
I am strongly considering getting a TRD Pro (depending on price of course). I think the Tacoma looks slightly better. I'm not to impressed with the outside and inside of the new Ranger. What makes the Tacoma stand out even more is cooled seated and rear vents, strong resale value and best in class HP and torque.
