I must admit I won’t be doing any off-roading in the Ranger Raptor. Just love the looks of it. I would imagine repairs etc will be a lot more expensive on the RR than let’s say a Ridgeline. Just looking for functionality of a truck with the bed and maybe the ability to tow if I ever need it.
One of my fears is that these trucks could end up being really expensive to maintain in a few years. Nobody can know for a fact how reliable the RR with all its bells and whistles will be over time.

You could wait for the truck you really wanted, have no regrets about getting to own it, and sell it when the time comes... But test drive the Ridgeline, if you haven't already. If it's all the truck you need, see if it's enough of the truck you want.

I've been looking hard at the '24 Toyota Land Cruiser, except it seems like pretty poor value for money relative to the RRaptor, given that a base Land Cruiser will be about the same price.

I really wish Ford would sell the Everest here instead of the Explorer.
The Everest is very nice, seen many videos of them on youtube.

Well, with the kid on the way I entertained the idea of going to look and test drive a ‘24 Honda Ridgeline. Didn’t think I’d like it as much as I did. It’s a fantastic ride (unibody) and seems to have a ton of functionality. This thing has heated and ventilated seats (even heated in rear), sunroof, powered rear window, back seats have climate control and vents, redesigned interior, folding rear mirrors etc.

May end up biting the bullet and saving $17k to sock away in a high yield savings account.

I’ve never had a turbo engine, especially twin turbo and even the thought of those breaking down and needing to be replaced gives me anxiety. Naturally aspirated just seems to go forever when properly maintained and might be the best choice for me at this point in my life.

Not going to lie, will be bummed about not sticking with the RR but hopefully somewhere down the line I’ll have another chance to pick one up.

Do whatever is best for your family.
My situation is different, being old and not having kids. The Ridgeline just doesn't have the cool factor that the RR does. It looks kind of soccer mom-ish to me.

Fair enough! I appreciate your opinion.

All the ADM Ranger Raptors within a 200 mile radius of me are just sitting on the lots can blame people dealers have legitimately lost their minds especially in this economy.

There are 3 Ranger Raptors sitting on the lot at the dealership where I bought my Lariat. They've been sitting there for close to 2 months. Priced at suggested list.

I know they’re totally different “trucks” but I’m considering the Honda Ridgeline as well. Seems very roomy and drives like an SUV due to it obviously being a unibody.
That would be an excellent choice.

They are still the best mid-sized truck available IMHO, but not a lot of people can pull that $60k trigger, much less an additional ADM. I bought mine a month ago thinking they will become order-only, so there won't be a huge inventory burning up dealers' floorplan budget. Thus, when they are gone, they are gone and to get one you may only have the option to order one, not get a steal on one that's been on a lot for months.. Wish I knew without a doubt what is going to happen with the economy, but it's not looking good.

I agree that the flipping option is probably gone for the foreseeable future.

The economy is fine; the market's on fire; everyone is spending like crazy, inflation is much better; there's not a single economic indicator that says the U.S. economy isn't the strongest in the world; interest rates will come down, and all of us here are spending 40-70k on a truck. We're all just fine.

The economy is really doing well, as is the stock market.
The world is envious of how well we are doing, our GDP has never been so high for so long in a long, long time. Interest rates are historically moderate, but hopefully will lower.
One could put that $17K into a CD at 5.5% but could also get an auto loan (if needed) and enjoy a Ranger.
Ford F-150 XLT's are discounted to $50K-53K and 1.9% financing.
F-150 STX's can be had for just a bit over $42K and similar financing.
By August, there will probably be even better deals on unsold inventory.

Everyone's situation is different, but I hope everyone that wants a Ranger or RR can find a way to get one. If I didn't get a RR, I'd probably consider a '24 Ranger 2.7L (both actually fit in my rather smallish garage stalls).

If you have to pay taxes on your purchase (which I assume you will as an individual) you will never make that money back up

But that astroid NASA is watching as it hurls toward earth.

NASA, the biggest money laundering operation next to the not so federal reserve.

Holy crap, I HOPE you are being sarcastic. Ford has something like 3 years supply of F150's right now almost everywhere. Trucks are imploding and that is a HUGE problem for automakers since the americans have all-but abandoned small and mid-sized cars. And electrics are NOT going to save them.
