My coworker just bought a fully electric S40 Volvo, and he said the range anxiety is real.
But how many days do you now forget to charge your phone - or your phone runs out of juice.. We all adjusted to that over time. This can't be for everyone. There must be an alternative for some situations. City Dwellers can't possibly be asked to drag a cord out into the street. And they are not going to put a charger for every parking spot. So this just can't be for everyone. But for a lot it will work and will be a fun ride too.

Too bad they can't put that big honkin charger underground and feed it up into a meter that looks like a parking meter than everyone can park at one

That would be the dream. But the power electronics that go into the true fast chargers are enormous and most city streets have very little open underground to bury them after decades of utilities and telecoms piling lines on top of each other. But some day I’m sure this problem will be solved. But get ready for the future when city governments start signing agreements with charging providers for exclusivity and the city gets raked over the coals like the private parking services in Chicago.
