I get between 17-20mpg, I drive it like I stole it. My commute is about 40 miles round trip, minimal in town driving.

Yeah, if it werent for the fact that my commute is 8 miles, stop and go traffic, barely getting warmed up by the time I get to work, Id probably get better MPG.

It's not race fuel, just ethanol free. There's no proof that it provides more power and any mpg gains are negligible. At least from the quick research I did.
Anecdotal, but my best tanks in any car I've driven have been with ethanol free gas, and typically about 10% better than e10 in the summer. It's not a bad idea to try it if the price isn't too much higher than 93 e10. It's about $.80 a gallon higher here.

I was driving to work this morning, thinking about how my 2013 Tacoma didn't have an MPG gauge, and how I always knew I'd get ~275 miles against ~17.5 average fill tank, and only pondered a moment to think if it was super low (e.g., did I have lots of city driving/idling that tank, etc). I.e., I only ever used MPG as an indicator to engine issues.

When I arrived at work and parked, I changed [MyView] to remove the MPG gauge, Trip 1 and Trip 2. They are all manually accessible, so I'll still check and reset Trip 1 every refill and Trip 2 every oil change. Other than that, I'll use the gauge screen to monitor engine warm up. FYI ~190F oil temp is mid-point of the 2nd section on the mini-cluster. Otherwise, I'm just going to always use the "Calm" screen, ignore the technology noise and enjoy the drive.

Another update. Drove a half a tank with everything in Normal mode. Averaged 14.5mpg. Dash still showed 15.1mpg. Really annoying its no longer accurate.

I am pretty much convinced mine gets better MPGs in town then I get on the highway.

In town pic taken on my way home from the office tonight.
‘Note the average speed only 35 mph. Getting over 15 mpg.

Pic from last road trip. Note average speed shown 76mph, had the cruise set at 85mph running into a 20+ mph head wind. Only getting 11.3 mpg.

I am convinced that make any Ecoboost work hard, it will guzzle fuel with the largest of V8s.

I’ve only got 2500 miles of Northern Virginia/DC area driving but just wanted to share Incase someone finds it helpful. No mods besides at FP Tune. I’ve noticed it increasing since my tune but it’s also new and still calibrating, I’m sure.

17mpg average since it drove off the lot.

Ford Ranger Tune killing MPG IMG_6355

this is my average since I added the tune.
93 octane since I drove it off the lot. Mixed city/highway driving with a 50 mile commute to work, each way.
exhaust is always is Baja mode. I drive fairly conservatively but always step on it to get on the highway or when I need to pass someone… or once in a while on a secluded straightaway

Yup, tuned with level and always in sport with baja. My mpg is up slightly with a lead foot and mostly city.

Since I swapped my tires back to a stock size P285/70R17 Standard Load Range. (SL).
My milage has improved a bit.
I have been getting 14-15 mpg with smaller lighter weight tires.

I have about 2000mi with my tune now. My highway mpg is exactly the same above 70mph. However, in mixed driving on country roads 45-65mph I am seeing an improvement of about 3 mpg. I attribute it to the improved shifting profile.
Which tune are you running?

The Ford Performance tune. Almost 7000 mi now and I couldn’t be happier.
Thanks, that's the one I'm looking at. I hear there's a part number for it for 25 RR but it hasn't been officially authorized for use in it. Strange because the 24 RR has the same motor.

My gas mileage hasn't changed since the FP tune. It's just always been pretty bad. 15.5 - 16 mpg average.
