I just added a forum link about fuel who would though a forum on fuel lol.
Just saw you posted about ethanol free gas. I prefer to use top tier gas even if it has ethanol in it. Ymmv, just my preference.

Gotcha, if it were closer i think i would try a tank full or maybe half just to see the difference in mpg's or seat of the pants feel.

It's not race fuel, just ethanol free. There's no proof that it provides more power and any mpg gains are negligible. At least from the quick research I did.

Seen mixed results here and YouTube. Some people claim close to 20MPG while others claim lower than 16mpg....

I have no tune and no lead foot and can not get above 15.5mpg.
I average 20 all day running 50-60, as high as 22-23. At 85 I regularly see 17-18. Around town 14.5-17.

If you want to see what it takes to get high mpg in this truck, test using the speed limiter function and let it hold like 50, 60, or 70 mph. You can mash the gas, and it will only do what it takes to hold speed. Really have to feather the throttle into deep vacuum zone to see that 25mpg zone.

But then again, we all got this truck and tuned it to 455hp/536tq cause we don't care about mpg ... else would've gotten a Prius or something else.

Interesting thread on tune and mpg. I've got 1200 miles on my RR and am getting 19-20 mpg driving at 6500-8500 ft elevation. Highway speeds are about 65mph and a good bit of country/mountain driving. This is burning 87 octane.

I am supposed to have the tune installed this week and had been expecting similar mpg, given no introduction of lead-footitis and 91 octane. Will share my findings once I have some miles built up. In the meantime, I am not looking forward to some of the mpg's reported.

I dont care about the mileage, my commute is 8 miles each way and I drive about 500 miles/month. I thoroughly enjoy this truck every time I drive it. My confusion is the fact that this is the first tuned vehicle I ever had(Ive modified every car Ive ever had for the past 30 years) that got worse MPG after tuning.

I'm not a granny driver by any means, but wouldnt say I've got a lead foot unless in in the mood. My 1850 miles since 1060 oil change average 14.7. I'm on my first full tank since tune install. Mixed driving, average 39 mph for 77 miles, I'm seeing 17.6 mpg ... so if my sample helps, I'm seeing a definite mpg boost

I just wanted to +1 this issue. I am noticing a drop after tune just like OP. 17->15 after about 800 miles.

eventually I will try to reapply the stock tune and see if it changes, but I like the driving post tune too much.

OK, just did a test. Drove in Sport mode from a full tank to a half a tank. Filled up just a hair over 10 gallons exactly. I averaged 13.97mpg. The display on the dash is still not correct showing 14.5mpg average. Wonder if theres a way to reset the adjustment in Forscan as thats really annoying.

Anyway, looks like Im back to normal mode for my daily commute.

I made the same exact 400 mile road trip again this week, only not quite dealing with the 20-30mph winds like the week prior, had a bit of tail wind at one point but for the most part winds were negligible 10-15mph. Mileage came in on the trip this week, right at 13.8-14mpg.
Traveled similar speeds 80+ exact same route too.
‘Seems really High head winds really work the 3.0L, not that it’s noticeable in how the truck runs but sure changes the mpg by quite a bit.
‘Prior week 11-12mpg this week 13-14mpg.

What mode(s) were you driving in during this trip?

I’m averaging 16.9 at the moment. Normal in town and short 4 lane trips.🇺🇸
