I dont know what it is, but I have lost 2mpg average since installing the tune. This is driving it on my daily commute like normal. Not racing from every light. Actually milking the throttle to try to help it out.

I went from an average of 16.4mpg before the tune to 14.5mpg after the tune. I could understand if Im romping on it then the MPG would drop significantly. But Im not, Im driving the same way as before the tune. Same commute, same roads, same speeds.

Also, since the tune, the avg MPG on the center screen is never right. It was on the money before the tune every time I filled up. Now it reads 1MPG average too high.

A small amount of the drop is due to winter blended gas, but it shouldn’t be that much IMHO. Do you warm up your engine before driving away, due to colder temperatures? Are you running a different set of winter tires?

I guess the reduced range and need for premium would be a reason to avoid the tune entirely, especially for those out West where premium may be unavailable in those really tiny (blink twice and you are past) towns.

Yes, my truck is garage kept and I always wait for the RPMs to drop before pulling away. Every vehicle Ive ever had was tuned, and I always gained MPG, not lost.

The thing about the change in gas, in NJ, the winter blended gas provided better MPG than the summer gas that added the ethenol.

The tune and greater torque seems to spool up the turbos far more often. Fun to drive now, but gas mileage is absolutely terrible for a small truck.

And your right.. a little wind and your fuel guage starts moving quickly from f to e. 😞

Same. Had 2019 ranger tremor and tuned it with Ford tune. Gained 3+ mph hwy and 1 to 2 in town.

With this raptor I've lost about 2 mpg hwy and town. I'm hard pressed to get out of the 16s on the hwy now. Sux!!!

I have about 2000mi with my tune now. My highway mpg is exactly the same above 70mph. However, in mixed driving on country roads 45-65mph I am seeing an improvement of about 3 mpg. I attribute it to the improved shifting profile.

The only time I saw improved shifting was in sport mode. In normal mode it was already really smooth and imperceptible.

I'm noticing less hunting for gears in normal mode. It seems to hold its gear on inclines longer and let the torque do its job.

Which would use more gas if holding gears longer. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not surprised about the loss. It seems to shift at a higher rpm at part throttle and downshifts very easily. Any slight hill and it will drop a gear.

This must be it since I do drive a consistent hill up and down to work.

How many miles do you have on it since installing the tune? I noticed something similar, mpg dipped to 14 ish but now that I have nearly 2k miles on the tune, it's back up above 17. I live in the mountains and don't drive it easy either, I enjoy all the torque it has to offer.

I installed it about 1k miles ago on Sept 18th.
