The screen position is pretty much perfect in our 2021 F150. The horizontal screen works well with the cameras and is high enough to see everything. The bottom of the screen has a ledge also to stabilize your hand on bumpy roads.

I am still waiting for a 2.7L V6 powered Tremor in a Supercab. If they make that, I don't care about the amenities that come with it. What ever it has, I will adapt. I don't see an advantage of push button start but will take it if that comes with it.

A forward looking camera would be nice to help off-road visibility with the higher front of the hood.

One thing I would really like is a fender antennae. I plan to get a pop up camper and the current antennae on the roof will be in the way of the camper overhang.

Some of you guys will hate me but I bought a Ranger Raptor at 2K markup and hated doing It. The only vehicle I paid over MSRP for in my life. My logic is I’m 75 years old and have been told by numerous dealers if I ordered one at MSRP it would probably take a year to get it. Who knows if I have a year left and there is no guarantee that Ford won’t raise the price that much anyways on the 2025 models. Not counting whatever enjoyment I will get from the truck over the next year, I swallowed hard and took the deal.

No sir. I might have paid $2K over if I could find an allocation in my immediate area.
I could not, so I widened my search and used things like cars.com, autotrader, and regional dealer searches to find Ranger Raptors. I then used the VIN to look up the window sticker. I then used the order number to check the build status, using the "order number" found on the window sticker. I spent 3 days/evenings inquiring, texting, emailing, etc. if allocations were spoken for. I finally found one in my preferred color that actually had a slight discount to MSRP for "Internet sales". I fortunately now know it has been shipped and fairly close to arriving.

One of your other posts mentioned not really knowing about the process. I did a lot of searches on the internet for things like "how to read a window sticker" and also saw All Terrain Nation explain the window sticker process in a video. Once you get your VIN#, you will soon get a window sticker and can track your build Ford Vehicle Order Tracking Home with your order number and VIN.
Use the search features here, too. Ask questions and hopefully someone will point you in the right direction to find out more.

you paid less than like 75% of the people on this website i think. most people paid $5k over and some paid 10k. a few found honest dealers with no ADM but the majority paid a markup. $2k isn't bad at all

I actually made a previous deal a couple of weeks ago and got a Vin # for a black truck at 5K OVER that was scheduled for possibly June or July delivery. However, today I got a text from one of the dozen or so dealers who I contacted that had one on his lot that was preordered and the guy backed out. It took all of a 2 minute conversation to decide. I pick it up on Friday at 2K over. Im sure my original dealer will be surprised when I call him after I pick up the new truck.

I really didn’t want black because of past experiences with black vehicles. I have a love hate relationship with black. They are great when perfectly clean and waxed but I hate it when they aren’t perfect. I’m too old to try and keep a truck perfect anymore.

Then sorry for my rant before. That is great news.
That's a record. New member for 2 days and you are picking your Truck up Friday.

100% agree, and I did the same thing for very similar reasons. Would rather have it here to enjoy it over the next year, rather then deal with all the waiting and frustrations I am sure I would have been in for trying to get one ordered at MSRP.
I find that alone to be worth the 2k that I paid over.

You made the right choice. Congratulations. Enjoy your new truck.

Please go look at the display in the Tacoma. That looks like a huge tablet tossed in. The ranger's is actually integrated and looks way better.

Yea it looks stupid on the Tacoma and much better on the Ranger but I keep hearing people say on the Ranger it is too low and makes you look down and takes eyes off the road. also being rotated it makes the screen smaller. I have not sat in one yet though but I have seen a few say that now.

I will reserve final judgement on the tablet screen for when I actually sit in the truck (hopefully very soon! I'm built and awaiting convoy delivery, no QC exceptions). Some good points all around...

And to the couple of guys taking shots at the thread... It should be okay for people to make minor criticisms of a product they like enough to spend $40-60k+ on.

Yea... especially the smaller screen... that gray plastic that the screen sits in reminds me of the TV surround on the GIANT 27" tube TV I had in the early 90s! Just supper ugly.

After putting over 1200 miles on her since last Friday, I have a good amount of time behind the wheel and so far I haven't really found much I dislike. I like the color more than any other, sunshine or overcast, light or dark. It really looks so damn good and I am not a green person - blue is my favorite color but not on these Raptor's.

So my short list after 1200 miles:

  • Wireless charger. On long trips my phone gets hot and using Android Auto for nav and music, the phone drains faster than it charges. Did I mention it gets hot? Several times I got out to take a picture but couldn't because the phone had overheated and needed to cool down. But I have a case and taking that off did help some. The wireless charger will probably be better served in town keeping the phone charged or less drained just getting around. No biggie but I've been plugging it in to USB most of the trip. (Also, my lack of A/C may play a part in the phone over heating as the temps have been upper 70's - that's a whole other issue I won't discuss in this post).
  • Screen sensitivity. Driving around it get slightly bumpy and trying to press buttons on a touch screen has left me frustrated at times when it just slides the screen instead of selecting what I wanted. Not a huge issue, I'm still getting used to it. Overall I still like it.
  • Keyless locking. This is likely on me. I've noticed sometimes when I press the dimple on the door handle to lock the door, it unlocks. I think I might be grabbing the handle which then the vehicle thinks I'm trying to unlock. When I purposely press just my thumb on the dimple, it locks, and my mirrors fold in helping me confirm I locked it.
  • Rear sliding window. I've left it open a couple times without realizing it. There's an alert for you to check your backseat occupants when you shut off the car to get out, why not the window too?
  • Lane Keep Assist. Overall I love it, but sometimes I feel like it's battling me and I guess that's how it knows your hands are on the wheel. Which is annoying when I don't battle it, it beeps at me telling me to get my hands on the wheel. They are. I also wish there was an option for warning when you do cross a line. Other cars have a more intuitive option. But this is leaps and bounds more than what I had and I like it.
  • Owners manual. Being only available on the screen has been quite a learning curve. I do have a PDF version, but on the infotainment screen, it's a pain in the rear trying to find what you need.
  • Auto Start/Stop. I don't hate it. Sometimes it's inconvenient, like I'll come to a stop and the engine shuts off and instantly the line moves so I have to go. The engine shuts off for literally one second. That's annoying. But I like the overall concept and will utilize it. It's just a learning curve of knowing when you need to disable it or engage it. If a tune or aftermarket part comes out to disable it, I don't think I'll partake, at least not just yet.
  • Mirror mounting. I have a radar detector and a dash cam I need to mount. Blendmount makes mounts for the ones I have and I've mounted on other mirrors with clean wiring that makes everything look clean but on the 2024 Ranger, there's not enough room for both. I don't like using the 3M adhesive tape mounts so not sure how I'm going to get both where I want them. This is my biggest gripe.
That's seriously all I could gripe about but absolutely nothing that would keep me from buying this truck all over again a hundred more times. Maybe after another 1200 miles I'll find some more things I don't like but I doubt it. If you look for something to complain about, you'll find it, that's life and there's no such thing as perfection. But for me, this truck has been awesome so far and I can't stop looking at her. And she gets noticed. Today, in Frederiksburg, I was sitting at a stoplight waiting for it to turn green and a couple were crossing the street in front of me and the guy was just staring hard and smiling and giving me the thumbs up. I liked it lol. It's what I'm used to in the CTS-V. I've been staring at this truck nonstop but I haven't given myself the thumbs up. Yet. 😁

So for all you future Ranger owners living vicariously through these forums and threads of the lucky ones who have received their trucks, hang in there! It is sooooooo worth it.

We all know & hear about the pro's of this new truck. let's make a list of the con's. Thinking Ford will see this and make this truck even better in the future. I'll Go first and say I loved the idea of a cordless phone charger. But this design sucks ass. the new phones have cameras that protrude off the back of phone. that makes the phone lift up off plate for charging. some times it works, most of the time it doesn't. Thinking of cutting the plate lugs off where my camera is laying hoping to fix the issue and will let the phone lay flat. I added a magnetic case that has helped, but didn't fix the issue.
I turn the phone where the bottom is to the left. The Cameras would then be pointing toward the passenger, seems to work with no issues.
My main concern is the OEM suggested oil changes, which are to liberal. Too many videos showing engine manufactures, premature destruction from lack of oil changes.
The excessive costs of a repair manual, Technical manual should not costs thousands of dollars for a years subscription. In 2008 I purchased a 2 book deal for my Jeep JK, it was under 175. Detailed as all can be.

If one does a Ford maintenance plan, I think you can pay a bit more for shorter oil change intervals.
I'll probably do shorter intervals than the max recommended.
