Careful, there are at least a few folks around here that think dealer markups are not a problem.

It seems that the mfgr does not want to offend dealers by implicitly condoning the markups on the majority of vehicles while seeming to appease some consumers in a segment they currently are struggling a bit in. I may not like mark-ups, but understand dealers have a right to do this currently.
I can just choose to accept it or walk. Fortunately, I already went over all the unnecessary add-ons over MSRP they listed in their first offer and deleted them. They will have one last chance to sell me anything extra on delivery day, an unavoidable step in the process.

Does anyone else not have a rubber mat in the bottom of their center console?

After I took delivery, I noticed there was a flap pulled up in the bottom of the center console for a transmission or park brake release. Popped it back into place without thinking about it, but today I was driving and stuff was sliding around in there. Thought it was odd that there's no soft rubber mat down there. Most Ford's I've owned came with one. Curious if it was lost during transit.

Why do ppl not like the verticle screen? I think with the 360 camera's it's the only way to make them useful.
You can have the rear view mirror screen in my old vehicle if you want., It's horizontal ;)

Huge center screen and tiny icons. It's hard sometimes to select the correct one while driving. If there is a way to adjust the size maybe someone can fill me in.

Coming from a BMW, which IMO has the industry best software/UX/control sets, the Ford UX is a bit of a mess. It's like their overall UX team hasn't spent more than a few minutes at a time in the car.

There's 1000 different ways to configure drive modes and no way to save any preferences, outside of the one "R" mode. But the "R" mode doesn't have a toggle feature, so if you're driving around normally, but want to use your "R" settings for full sport, then you have to switch 5 different settings back to normal.

Giant center screen is dumb in general. It should be mounted higher off the dash for visibility like the MachE. There's very few buttons on the center stack and half of them control shit you're never going to use. Who is turning off A/C, changing recirc, or changing fan speed, in a car with climate control? Those buttons already exist 2" above on the center screen. I would much rather have heated seat/steering wheel buttons or a dedicated 360 camera button.

Where there isn't a lack of buttons is the steering wheel. There's 22 different buttons on the wheel (not counting the paddles or stalks), and almost half of them are just for controlling autonomous/safety features.

Lane Centering is bad on any road that's not pretty straight and its already yelled at me multiple times to keep my hands on the wheel, when I have my hands planted firmly on the wheel.

The Off-road screen on the center stack takes at least 10 seconds to fully boot up.

The haptics in the Mode Control knob sound like its already broken.

For some reason not all of the configurable dash screens are available in MyView.

There's no one touch windows in the back seats in a $60,000 truck.

Non software things: My driver's door doesn't line up very well and the leather on the seat does not look like its going to hold up long term.

Overall, still very happy with the truck, but in classic Ford fashion, its a bit of a mess.
Did you look at the Tacoma to see if that fits your needs. I've seen a lot of people flip to the Canyon or Colorado. I love the truck and I find the new things I have trouble navigating I am loving after a few months, lol.

I bought a Raptor. If I wasn't going for the Raptor, I'd probably have bought a Toyota Land Cruiser.

Legally, the OEMs cannot do anything about dealer markups. Franchise laws were established decades ago when the dealer was tiny compared to the OEM, to protect the dealers from price-fixing on the part of the OEM. Now, some 50yrs on, there are public dealer groups that are larger than some OEMs and have more power. The OEM can only do so much without the group considering it predatory, and then threatening a lawsuit.

So the OEM can juggle allocations, reduce specialty models here & there, maybe even reduce marketing dollar contributions...none of which can directly be tied to ADMs. It is the responsibility of state & federal governments to amend those franchise laws. But in a capitalist society, there dealer groups probably have powerful lobbyists...maybe moreso than the OEM...so don't expect anything to change.

The easiest way to illicit change is as the consumer. But for everyone of us that refuse to pay an ADM, there's at least one person that will, justifying the practice. People don't buy a specific model or specific option/trim...the OEM eliminates it. Just look at Minivans, SUVs and manual transmissions. Each one grew, shrunk or disappeared because that's where people did or did not spend their money.

If you think Ford is bad, you should check out Mercedes. My wife's 2019 isn't even touch screen. And for navigation, you have to use the dial to enter numbers/letters one at a time. Voice command is useless, as it never understands what you say. Oh, and you can't just enter and address and go. You have to first enter the name of the municipality/district. Good luck with that when you're travelling and are unfamiliar with the area.

Gotta disagree with you on the screen location though. I absolutely despise the trend of bolting a tablet to the dash.
I agree it's not the best looking design, but I have to give Ford credit for at least integrating it into the dash. Better looking than the MachE IMO
I must admit, I like the way my screen, although smaller on my 19 Ranger Lariat, is embedded horizontally and into the dash and not the big giant tablet in your face on the newer.

And when iDrive debuted in 2001, BMW was nearly universally panned for the system. Now it's the benchmark. BMW is now on iDrive 9, which might as well be iDrive 18...because there's been a "0.5" iteration every year. The fact that Ford is only up to SYNC 4a, kind of explains the issue here. To be fair to Ford, thought, they sell nearly quadruple the volume of BMW and the first iteration of Sync that I tried out in a 2009 Flex was very good. Haven't had a chance to play with the latest...can't wait to in my Raptor (when it finally arrives).

From all the reviews, I honestly have no quibbles.

No rear vents? Fine...there are vents under the seats. My family's 1995 Passat only have under-floor vents and no one died in the back.

No one-touch rear windows? So what? I can hold down my finger for another 5 seconds...so can a passenger.

No side-step on the Raptor? I have long arms and I'm 6,1

Tablet & SYNC 4? Everyone's got a screen nowadays, as much as I despise them. I'll figure out the UI/UX. Not concerned there.

Sure, I'd have liked a different color option for interior color options on the Raptor...but if it bothered me that much, I'd pass on the truck. The MST Ranger blue trim would be a cool - take your pick: Blue or Orange.

Probably my only issue is the lack of paint protection on the drivetrain components. Why they didn't or couldn't run the same part as the Aussie trucks is puzzling.

All in all, seeing it in person, I am very excited for it.

Yeah but the location of this screen puts so much information down low. To use the 360 camera you practically have to stare at the floorboards. Not great for maintaining awareness and using your mirrors in tandem.

Excuse the MS Paint, but here's the drivers perspective from where I sit. If the screen was mounted partially above the dash (like 3-4"), it wouldn't obscure any view of the road, but would put much more of the screen within view. Would also open up space for another row of hard buttons or more space in the center console area.

Whether it looks integrated or not, its much safer and more functional.
