Looking at possible purchase of a 24 Lariat 2.7 my local dealer has on the lot. Has everything i want on it including FX4.
Deciding between the 24 or waiting for them to get in a 25 they have on order.

Question is for you that have the 24’s have you seen the “first year gremlins” or have the 24’s been solid?
The truck I’m looking at was built in mid Sept 24.

Cost diffference aside should I wait for the 25 or jump on the 24?

My current 23 Colorado Z71 has been a pain in the a#$ due to the first year infotainment issues/gremlins and Im not keeping it past 36k.
Currently at 30k and drive about 1k miles per month right now.
they have been out around the world and Australia for a while so bugs are worked out. I have had mine for a minute and not an issue. only thing they fixed in states is the bed doesn't support a giant cap without reinforcing the bed but if it's built after oct. your fine.

Have 2.7L Fx4 since Sept 15th ish... 5K + miles and runs pretty darn good. That 2.7L is zippy...happy camper. Can't wait for spring/summer to give the forest service roads a visit. Here fishy fishy fishy.

speaking of camper what type of cap do you have? looks nice. I took mine off-roading on the beach in the snow and it did great. purposely put it in 2wd on the beach and it wouldn't get stuck. happy

2.7 FX4 XLT built in Dec. I've owned for about a month now. Only issues have been a bad fog lamp and the driver side window goes up really slow. Don't know if it's the really cold Temps (10s and 20s) or tight weather stripping. Anybody else have the same issue? Beyond that
though it's been great ride.
I have noticed all my windows go up a bit slow. I will say this the new Toyotas and lux Lexus do this soft close window thing so idk if it's designed that way but yes, mine does it.

Hello Mr. Danger,

Link to a post I made below when I put the topper on the Lariat. PDF of the invoice is attached in link. Ford website has a Leer for about $4K (now $4.2K + install), but I liked the ARE bit better. The Lear has hinges that look like ones you would buy at a hardware store....the ARE has this C shape hinge and my opinion was/is a bit heavier duty. I did like both and looked at other brands too.

The Yakima rack and bed rug were about a $1,300 option(s); others were auto locks, lights, pet screens and this is a seamless model (bit more $) where both the Ford Leer and ARE have a "seamed" model. Cleaner look in my opinion once again.

Delta comparison to Ford/Leer was about $350 more for an upgraded unit + the other options I put on...about $2K more for what I wanted. I seem to have more money the sense.

Enjoy the snowy (sunny) beach!
