I also drove the maverick and the tacoma when shopping. I originally wanted a maverick but once i did a 30 mile test route back to back to back with all 3 truck, a 25 maverick, a 25 tacoma trd, and the 24 stx ranger, the ranger got the best gas mileage, the least road/wind noise, and most comfortable so that locked the ranger in as the truck i bought that afternoon. I also hit multiple dealers and got the ranger for 32.5 with the tow package and locking rear diff.

I dont know if those are standard options or not, i just know this truck has them

Mine was a March build as well. Two issues: the bezel ring was missing on the drive modes switch and an AC line was not assembled correctly. Approaching 10k miles now. 2.3L. Wouldn’t change a thing. Only complaint is the rear headrests don’t fold so that you can lay the seat back flat. Stored them under the seat until I need them. Heads up if you install a bed cover…seal the holes under the bed caps before installation. I have to do-over when the weather breaks. The truck is fun to drive. Occasionally, there’s more road noise than I would like. Overall I’m really happy with this purchase.
No kidding on the bed cap holes, who new when we put the covers on.

Looking at possible purchase of a 24 Lariat 2.7 my local dealer has on the lot. Has everything i want on it including FX4.
Deciding between the 24 or waiting for them to get in a 25 they have on order.

Question is for you that have the 24’s have you seen the “first year gremlins” or have the 24’s been solid?
The truck I’m looking at was built in mid Sept 24.

Cost diffference aside should I wait for the 25 or jump on the 24?

My current 23 Colorado Z71 has been a pain in the a#$ due to the first year infotainment issues/gremlins and Im not keeping it past 36k.
Currently at 30k and drive about 1k miles per month right now.

I have a 2024 2.3, so I can't speak for the 2.7, but I've been very happy with it. I've had it since last May and still love to drive it. I traded a 2023 Colorado for it because it was in the shop constantly. When the paint started peeling around the headlights two weeks after having the same area repainted, I knew it was time to get rid of it.

I hear that. The QC on the 23 Colorado’s was just crap.

Well after all the positivity I decided to rejoin the Ford family. Officially back in the Ranger groove. Got a good deal on a 24 from my local dealer and left the Colorado behind.

Interesting, not that I'll ever flat-tow my truck but for my curiosity's sake, what changed that made it flat-tow-able?
I think the gossip here was that it was something to do with either the abs/speed sensors, or the associated software, or something along those lines. Whatever it was, I’ve read that there is no “fix” or workaround.

Congratulations! I do hope it’s everything that you’re looking for. I came real close to pulling the trigger on a canyon, and if my local dealer was easier to deal with I might have. But after following along in their forums I couldn’t be happier that I’m ending up with a Ranger too (knock wood).

Will definitely be adding a backflip tonneau.
Will keep that in mind.

A 2024 should have a really good price to be worth buying, well below sticker, it is already a “year old” truck and the resale value will be less because of that. If you plan to keep it more than a couple of years, that really shouldn’t matter too much.

I buy “old” items all the time, electronics and appliances mostly, due to their heavy discounts. I have a hard time rationalizing paying $500 for a new model printer when the last version is $250… too bad cars aren’t this way, except for models nobody wants. Like electric cars.

Was a very good deal. Also got premium for my trade. Could have waited for a 2025 but was sick of dealing with issues with the Chevy I traded. Dealer also owns a GM dealership and wanted the trade. They can have it.

2.7 FX4 XLT built in Dec. I've owned for about a month now. Only issues have been a bad fog lamp and the driver side window goes up really slow. Don't know if it's the really cold Temps (10s and 20s) or tight weather stripping. Anybody else have the same issue? Beyond that
though it's been great ride.

I waited for a 2.7 and a dealer 100 miles away finally got an XLT FX4 in white. 10/24 build and purchased 11/24. No issues yet but I've only driven it 2,800 miles.

I have a 2024 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 with the advanced trailer, pro towing, adv tech packages. Front wheel bearing was bad at. 3k, Reflashed transmission at 4k (rough shifting) fixed by dealer .
Have 8k on it now and drives flawlessly. Best truck I've ever owned. Puts a grin on my face every time I drive it. 2025

I have a 2024 3.2 Ranger XLT FX4 4X4 with the advanced tow, pro trailer, technology packages. Only problems I experienced was bad front wheel bearing at 3k miles and rough transmission shifting at 5k
Both problems fixed by dealer. Have 8k on it now. Drives flawlessly. Best truck I've ever owned. Puts a grin on my face every time I drive it.
If you can get all the packages you want I'd go for 2024 model
Cheaper?
