  1. 285/70/17 Open Country & Bilstein 5100’s installed

Wow, so it looks like (if Iā€™m understanding correctly) with your setup having leveled the front and only one rung lower on the strut you canā€™t maintain factory ride height with these? Even the lowest rung looks like it would raise the front.
  2. Wondering if 410lb dry tongue weight too much for Ranger?

The trailer isn't very heavy or anywhere close to the max towable weight so I wouldn't worry at all about that. As for tongue weight, I think the ranger's limit is around 750lbs, or 10% of the max tow weight, so dive into the details of how much the tongue really weighs for a trailer you're...
  3. 2024 Ranger 2.7L knock/ticking

Sorry to hear that you're still having trouble with your engine and also that you're that your dealer isn't trustworthy. But thank you for sharing the update with us.
  4. You Know That Slot In The Front of The Center Console? It's for French Fries šŸ˜‰

Or maybe the Australian market; that list is taken from a YouTube video from an Australian guy who listed 7 or 8 ā€œEaster eggsā€ on the new ranger
  5. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

Ah, design engineer; not the same as engineer.
  6. New 2025 2.3 DI engine

Iā€™m not sure this sounds correct. I remember introductory videos where the chief engineer (Juan DiPena?) was interviewed and heā€™s definitely not Australian. Hereā€™s one such video:
  7. Max Payload for 2025 Ranger XLT ? - mpg towing

Theyā€™re asking about payload, not towing capacity. But you are right about the towing capacity being the same for either engine option.
  8. Max Payload for 2025 Ranger XLT ? - mpg towing

The only answer that matters regarding payloads is whatā€™s printed on the sticker in the driverā€™s door jam. The reason you see such a range posted is because the largest payload number is for the base truck with no options, and every option added adds weight and reduces payload. But for...
  9. Useful Towing aids

Iā€™ll let others chime in on things like weight distribution hitches, rear view cameras, tpms monitors, etc., but I will add that Iā€™m in the habit of carrying an IR temp gun and whenever I stop for a break I take the temp of each wheel hub and brakes.
  10. No XLT trim for 2025?

I initially thought the 2024 was still on the website because they're not sold out yet. But as I mentioned, I could still configure the 2024 with any trim level and whatever options I wanted.
  11. 12" center screen protector

This is the one Iā€™m using as well; so far so good. I remember when I put it on I thought it wasnā€™t a perfect fit but that it was pretty good. But ever since then I canā€™t figure out why I thought that. It works, itā€™s easy to clean, and I donā€™t see the edges of the protector.
  12. No XLT trim for 2025?

That is odd; Iā€™m seeing raptor, lariat, and xl as well for 2025 model year. But another odd thing is starting from ford.com and selecting Ranger from the Vehicles menu brought me to the 2024 Ranger where I saw, and could build, an XL, XLT, Lariat, or a Raptor.
  13. 2024 Ford Ranger Recall for Unexpected Vehicle Movement - 25S19

Except the production dates listed above are late 2024: 2 Ford Ranger vehicles are affected. Production Dates : NOV 15, 2024 - DEC 15, 2024
  14. 2025 Order update

It would only be a matter of time before the rangers knew the camera was there and started making silly faces.
  15. 2025 Order update

It would be more fun if they had cameras mounted in the plant that took still photos and we had the opportunity to buy the photos in the same way we can buy photos after riding a roller coaster.
  16. What sells you on the XLT compared to the Lariat

Congratulations on your decision and purchase; youā€™re gonna love it.
  17. Adding more protection for rust etc

I havenā€™t tried the things you mentioned, but I just spent a few days doing paint correction and multiple coats of ceramic coating and tomorrow Iā€™ll put paint protection film on the front painted surfaces and these rocker panels, then lastly fluid film and surface shield on everything except the...
  18. Need help convincing wife

Iā€™ve been married for, I dunno, 25 years or so, and it sounds to me based on your original post, that she wants whatā€™s right for you. Give it time, and like I said earlier, show her that youā€™ve thought it through and it really does meet your needs as a vehicle. If your wife is like mine then...
  19. Need help convincing wife

I would have to disagree with this. Not considering a spouse's input on a big purchase decision isn't conducive to a healthy relationship. It sounds to me like the wife has concerns about him being happy with the purchase, so fill in the blanks for her, so to speak. Take richman555's idea and...
