Dealer installed this morning - service guy mentioned the screen flickering right off. Service writer asked me if I had purchased it from them and I told him I saved $210 by ordering it online. I told him what I just spent on the truck - plus the fact they made $5000 on my trade-in - I was hoping they would show me a little generosity with the cost of the tune. He (sort of) agreed with me - told me to use the screen and see if it improves. Anyway - now I'm wondering if I need to get in touch with the seller or will the Ford dealer be the person who exchanges the tablet? If that happens - does the tune need to be re-installed?
Truth is - the tablet doesn't need to be installed, correct? I was charged $125 for the install and I'm good with that.
Was 17 below on the way there.

I had this exact same issue when I plugged mine into a Dell laptop. I tried like 5 different cables, regular USB vs a USB 3.0 port, etc. and it still did the same thing. The screen turns on and then fades away like turning the power off on an old Gameboy or something, yeah? I plugged it into my desktop and it worked perfectly. I got my tune from Steeda, but I don't think it matters.

I ended up doing all the work to get the tune downloaded and flashed to the device. Then I just took it to the dealer and had them plug it into the ODBII slot and flash the tune. They never needed to touch a computer.

Did they mention if the truck was plugged into a charger during the process. If they didn’t, it can cause this to happen. The instructions for upload and download specifically mentions this. There’s system must maintain 14 + volts during the process.

Something tells me they didn’t.🇺🇸

I have an appt tomorrow and the service tech wanted to do all the updating and downloading of the software. I did register it to my Ford performance account though.

It’s a Ford product installed by Ford, they need to figure it out on their dime.

It’s a Ford Performance product purchased through a third party and installed by an independent dealer.

Ford doesn’t have figure anything out on their dime…

That’s funny I purchased mine thru a third party and my dealer said any issues would be covered by Ford!

Had this installed 15 days ago - put the display away as soon as it started flickering (right away).
Today I hooked it up and it works fine. Hoping this continues ---
