Good call. I wonder if there individual locations that they drive in makes a bigger difference. Traffic density, stop lights etc.
I'm thinking how heavy your right foot is makes the biggest difference 😁 I guess if you baby it around town you might do much better.
For me I got 14.2 mpg at my first fill up. Now into my second tank with it showing 14.6. That is doing normal Texas interstate speeds of 85 mph. Around town mileage seems to suffer dropping into the 13s. Truck is still new less than 400 miles. I thought mileage would increase as it breaks in but from this thread I see I am getting close to normal mileage now.
Has anyone found going to higher grade gas gives better mileage?

I have about 5k and it’s about 6 months old.
12.3 around town and 19-20 on the highway. I live in the DC area however…

I have a Lariat FX4 with a 2.7. I use 93 premium when towing and 87 octane otherwise. Odometer is 4500 miles.

My lowest mileage has been towing a 4000 pound camper into 15mph headwinds in rolling hills at 65 mph ... 10.5 mpg.

The same camper with no wind, flat ground and the same speed ... 13 mpg.

Unloaded, all highway, mostly flat with moderate hills and 70 mph ... 27mpg.

Same as above, but with significant headwinds ... 23 mpg.

Speed has an enormous impact on mileage. For me, driving a bit slower is far more relaxing, and it is my preference regardless of fuel mileage.

Just for grins, I did a max mpg test for about 200 miles during a recent road trip. I wasn't on interstates, so drove between 60 and 65mpg. The indicated mpg was 29.6. Calculated mpg was 28.9 mpg.

The truck is capable is very impressive mpg, but not if you're in a hurry.

Hi all. Obviously, I didn’t buy this truck for its great MPG, that being said; I did think I’d fare a LITTLE better than this.

To add some context, I’m in Texas at sea level, and have the ProCal installed for a little less than a month now, have been filling with 93 octane since then, and have 2500 miles on the dash, bought a 24’ new in January

Did my first tank of exclusively highway miles, with not much overtaking etc, in normal mode. Ran about 200 miles in the afternoon, fully highway, minimal to no stops or idling (minus a very quick 4 min McDonald’s drive thru) and only got 15.9mpg on my entire trip.

ive seen some posts in here of yall getting close to 20, in some cases 21. Just curious if anyone else has had the same experience, or has a guess why my mileage seemingly is a bit lower than what I personally expected, or this is about accurate.
I get 24 mpg hyway doing 70 mph. What are you driving? I have a 2024 ranger XLT FX4 2.3L .

Funny enough I have been able to get 28-30mpg on long trips from cali to utah, I thought it was the car glitching but I get about 500-550 miles to the tank depending on driving. But in towns closer to around 24ish.

Yes, i am getting the exact same milage results. with mine.
‘It was worse when I had my 10 ply 34” tires on. lol
‘With the 10 ply 34” tires I saw as low as 12 mpg.

Back with a lighter stock size At4W and now back to seeing 15-16 mpg.
I think when I parked it last night it was showing 15.8 Mpg.

I am in a similar situation Here in northern Oklahoma southern Kansas, we also have 75-80 mph interstates so running 80-85 mph is the norm around here too.
We also get to deal with a lot of wind too, wind speeds around here tend to be in a typical 15-30mph, which I have to say that wind also plays a big factor as well.

I do have the Ford performance tune, Around here never really see 93 at the pumps so I am running 91 that’s about as good as it gets here. I do look for stations with pure gas when I can find it.

I have 8000 miles on mine now, it turned a year old last month, first oil change was a couple weeks ago.

Just did ~1000mile round trip in my '24 with the 2.7L and about 5k on the odo. Cleveland, OH to Bowling Green, KY empty with cruise set at 78mph and running 87 octane in Eco I got an indicated 23.3mpg. Bowling Green to Cleveland towing my new to me car trailer with stone guard, cruise at 75mph and running 89 octane in Tow/Haul I managed 16.1mpg.

Last Fall I ran the same trip with a slightly larger trailer without a stone guard but with my Time Attack car on it (totaling ~5000lb) and was getting around 13.2mpg at similar speeds (only running 87 octane)

Are you all using the trucks display to get your mpg numbers? Mine is not accurate at all. I took an 1800 mile trip with my 2.7 and hand calculated at every fillup. Averaged 24 mpg for the whole trip driving no faster than 5 over the limit. Truck dash calculated 21 mpg for the trip.

Interesting. My hand calculated mileage is consistently 1 or 2 mpg less than what the truck displays.

I don't calculate it every fill up though ... maybe every third time.

Just had the new wheels and 32 Nittos put on today. Wider /taller than the stock Lariat wheels. Not sure how much heavier. Will see what it does to mpg starting tomorrow…but for the look and stance and the feel it will be worth whatever I give up in mpg.
After running the new tires and wheel combo for about 600 miles It looks like I have lost less than 1 mile per gallon. Prolly about .5 mpg loss. The feel of the truck is way better with the wider wheel and tire combo so worth it to me.
