Interesting. My hand calculated mileage is consistently 1 or 2 mpg less than what the truck displays.
I don't calculate it every fill up though ... maybe every third time.
Thanks. For me, hauling taller items has been easily accommodated by just sliding the rear bar forward. On the short bed Ranger I might have to remove the bar at some point, but not for anything I can foresee right now.
It's an expensive rack, especially when you add their proprietary...
I don't have an answer to your question, but I want to thank you for posting pics.
I had a Leitner rack on my long bed Tacoma, and had that cargo box and some other accessories. I haven't yet gotten a Leitner rack for the Ranger, but I plan to do if for no other reason than to be able to use...
As proof that you're correct, I also have a "loaded" Lariat with 2.7 and FX4. It has a payload of 1374 pounds, which means your particular "loaded" Lariat is about 40 pounds more loaded than mine.
I have a Lariat FX4 with a 2.7. I use 93 premium when towing and 87 octane otherwise. Odometer is 4500 miles.
My lowest mileage has been towing a 4000 pound camper into 15mph headwinds in rolling hills at 65 mph ... 10.5 mpg.
The same camper with no wind, flat ground and the same speed ... 13...
What's your goal? I'm not asking about accessories or modifications, but what you need to do with the truck that it can't currently do or do as well as you'd like.
I'm asking out of curiosity. Whether you're interested in looks or specific functions, it's your money and your business.
The truck will handle the weight, including the tongue weight, EASILY. I haul a 3500 pound camper that has a loaded tongue weight of 450 pounds. I don't use and don't need a weight distribution hitch, but you might benefit.
As someone else said, ypu DO need to watch your payload. I have a...
I have a '24 Lariat with the 2.7 liter. It has the FX4 package and just about every option other than the bed steps and bed liner.
My payload is just under 1400 pounds. If your truck is a 4x4, it will be in that ballpark.
I pull a camper that weighs about 4000 pounds loaded. It's a teardrop...
That's all true. But as I read the question, he's not asking IF but by how much.
It seems to me that the only way to assess the degree of impact is to get feedback from others who have made similar changes. Then you're going from a wild ass guess to a minimally educated guess.
Yes BUT, the tailgate locks when you lock your doors, which I'm guessing is true of all trim levels.
If the tailgate is locked, that makes tailgate and taillight theft more difficult l.
That's a performance question. The statement was about OCCASIONALLY using premium to keep injectors "happy." If "happy" means well maintained injectors, then the question isn't about engine performance
