Hi Forum!

I'm about to buy a Ranger Raptor V6, which comes equipped with BFGoodrich K03 285/70r17 tires, as many of you already know.

However, since I will mostly be driving on wet or snowy pavement, changing them to BFGoodrich Trail Terrain 285/70r17 tires would be safer, softer ride, and quieter.

Ford Ranger BfGoodrich K03 - Trail Terrain 1723560698613-s7

Ford Ranger BfGoodrich K03 - Trail Terrain 1723560764997-vc

Is there anything I should consider when making this change? Could any mechanical issues or sensors in my vehicle that might be affected and prevent it from operating correctly?

Thank you very much!

You should have no issues whatsoever in making this change.

The KO3s are rated for snow. There has been mixed feedback on wet performance. Some say its not as good as the KO2s but some are now reporting that after break in of the tire at around 1000 miles they have gotten a lot better. The wet performance seems to only be an issue in 2H as well, but others can comment here.

Amazing! I really appreciate everyone's feedback and opinion. My biggest "concern" is to avoid damaging any sensor or OEM system that is configured to work "exclusively" with the KO3.

Those should work well on Ruta 40 in Patagonia.:like: I bet they won’t sling as many rocks as the KO3’s.

Haha, that’s correct, here we have some pavement roads that they are not so different from a dirt road 😂 but they are beautiful so drive it

Amazing I really really appreciate the punctuality. To be honest for my use of the truck I gain on weight, brakes, steering, noise and lastly comfort.

These seem like a great choice for upgrading the Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT that come stock with the FX4 package on the Ranger XLT. Those stock tires have been okay for me so far, but I know they are not great and I've heard they are terrible in the snow. So I'm thinking of new tires before winter. I had a set of Yokohama Geolander G015s on a Subaru Outback before buying this Ranger and they were also good - they performed well off road and in snow. As mentioned above, I think these "on-road A/T tires" (as Tire Rack categorizes them) are a better compromise than full A/T tires for most of us.

Been raining a lot lately and the K03's definitely loose traction easy with the RR for sure.

I am having a different experience. Last THU during TS Debbie I drove from the Piedmont of N.C. to the mountains and had no issues. I had it in 4A the entire way. I kept the speed down a bit but otherwise drove normal. Along the way I passed at least 4 cars that had slid off the road.

Yeah I had it in 2wd and when you take off a little faster than normal they break loose
