6th Gen XLT Bed Rack Options

Im wondering if anyone has found any bed racks they would recommend for the 6th gen Ranger. I've been interested in the XTR1 from Xtrusion Overland but i don't believe they officially support the 2024 model year. Has anyone tried the XTR1 on their 6th gen? Or have any other recommendations for 6th gen bed racks? I am looking for either mid or cab height rack for a roof top tent.

I went with UpTopOverland. They have a universal that has multiple mounting options. I went with the Retrax Xr mounts for use with my Retrax roller cover.

I have a Yakima crossbar system on top of a Retrax tonneau with T Slot rails. I am really liking it so far, I have the Yakima Reel Deal fishing pole mount on it now, and looking at a cargo box or a flat rack for more cargo options. It also quick detaches if I need to remove to haul something too tall to fit under the crossbars. Check my build thread for pictures

Do you have any pictures of the tent installed on the rack? I really like the rack but feel like it may be a little high with a 13.5 inch tent height while closed.

Rack is lower than the roofline. The RTT sits above the roofline but stays under the stock antenna height.

@24AzureGrayFX4 I went with CXR bed rack, from KB Voodoo, they’re very very similar to XTR and they’ll do custom height. Mine sits at 18inch, which is basically flush with the roof line and added the RTT on top with the front runner quick release mounts and the 1.5’ lift support from CXR as well. Top stuff !

@Ag3ntC00p3r by the way, I absolutely love the copper looking wheels, can I ask what are they !? Did you use any spacers ? Any suspension work to accommodate the weight on the rack ?
I didn’t do anything to mine, just handles great right now.

Hub centric. No spacers and had them installed at the dealership. Had them swap the KO3 onto them.

No suspension work yet. I’m going to look at rear spring options or bags in a couple months before I put it back on. Rack, RTT, and gear in the bed had a good amount of sag. Even now with just the rack and minimal weight in the bed it has some drop. I knew all that going in so not a knock on the truck.

I am not convinced about airbags yet. Never had any, setup looks complicated to install and to maintain, and I am not very enthusiastic about changing the springs on our magnificent fox shocks. And I haven’t found a shop yet that makes me feel as if they’re capable of dealing with those shocks.

Springs shouldn’t be too bad but of course I don’t want to mess with the already great ride. The other option I’m considering is getting or making an adventure trailer that can hold my gear and RTT. Will be more flexible regarding payload and then I don’t have to pack up camp every time I want to drive.

RTT and rack setup was purpose built for my 3 week trip out to Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico last fall. My copium math says it paid for itself instead of staying at hotels every night.

I have a lightweight popup trailer I used to use but I would need to do a lot of work on it to make it more off-road capable. I’m already in the middle of an interior remodel on it to modernize it to resell later this summer.

Thanks. Funny how similar our builds turned out while still being uniquely our own.
Loved your last roof rack install video. That’s probably my next mod for my kayak.
