That's great! Will there be provision (like a tubular rail behind the fairing, for example) for mounting lights or a light bar?
Yeah, so similar to our previous racks like the Bronco TRMR Rack, we will offer different variants of wind deflector, typically a light bar cut out one as well as a standard. We are dabbling with the idea of a LP4 or round light equivalent deflector cut out for those who want that. We just wanted to test with a standard first.

So far with about 2000 miles on a loop drive to California and back with some mixed offroading and mixed highway driving of up to 80 mph and winding roads, our test truck has only lost 0.5 MPG, we cannot confirm if it is the roof rack causing that or the winterized gas we recently got in Utah. Once we got out of Utah for the test and into warmer climates where we did not see the winterized gas like we do in Northern Utah, the gas milage shot right back up and in some cases more than average.

Wind noise is minimal and the only time you start to notice any noise from it would be if you are getting a side wind where the wind is hitting the side of the rack. Head on winds, barely noticeable even at the same volume for music.

Let us know if you have questions about this rack! Happy to answer.

Very interested in a no-drill rack.
Any word on the rated load capacity?
We are still making some adjustments, waiting on preproduction models to land this week. Once we land on the design we are happy with. We will send it off for CAD weight load testing and go from there. From what we have tested on our prototype, we are confident in 300-400 lbs dynamic. This is not a confirmed number but a rough estimate. We will publish the numbers as soon as we find out.

I would personally love a LP4 cutout fairing. Definitely interested in the rack. Can't wait to give you my money! lol

Development Status Update!
Perfect timing for Christmas for us! We got this rack on today December 23rd! It took only a couple of hours and a few pairs of hands to get in and take a look at what we are dealing with. From what we have seen, the North American model VS. the Australian/ outside North America are different in a few aspects for the interior and some exterior things. We are very happy with how this first prototype looks, this will help those visual people see what we have been working on!

As for things we can confirm as of now for those interested in this Roof Rack:
1. Head liner does not need to be dropped for this install
2. This rack is entirely bolt on to factory reinforced locations on the roof
3. 2 person install should take about 2-3 hours
4. This rack will be incredibly strong

As for those looking at these images, the rack is subject to change with slight edits based on what we have learned from our prototype and initial install. We were able to complete the install in about 4 hours with no instructions, no measurements to go off of, and no guidance meaning once we get the numbers we need to help assist you in your install, the install will be a lot easier and more streamlined. We are very happy with the results, from here we will be load testing it and wind noise testing it.

We should have preorders open soon. We are hoping late January or Early February.
Are you able to provide more detail on how you got around having to drop the headliner? I thought you had to drop the headliner to at least remove the factory gutter rails. This sounds like wizardry.

Hi, I like your design and the road test results sound very promising. I have a some questions.

I assume your hardware requires regular tightening, is this correct? Does that include the main bottom bracket bolts that go down into the cab? I hope you use non-hardening seals that allow this without damage. My EZ-Awn LC200 full length expedition rack rails used silicone sealer, so you wrecked the joint by retightening them. You REALLY need to get this right, water entry into the cab is bad news…

With a full width RTT, access is really restricted, how hard will it be to get underneath it to reach the crossbars afterwards, for torque checks of your nuts as well as the RTT mounts? How high off the bars will a RTT need to be mounted for access that won’t make me swear? I had my Maggiolina Grand Tour 360 on that EZ-Awn rack, using low mounts, and it proved to be a real PITA to get to the the RTT nuts and the crossbar nuts. Very frustrating!

Will you do installations at your shop? I would be interested in a quote for labor and materials. I assume you would also charge Utah 7.25% sales tax on the entire amount?

I love supporting US manufacturers, it is one reason I bought a Go Fast Campers Topper. Your rack would be a great addition to that. When you know the installed height above the roof for the RR, please publish it. I don’t care if it is exactly the same as my GFC Topper, but that would be very convenient. Thanks!

We will cover this in our install video once we put up the video, you will just have to take our word for it for now.

All great questions. I will answer them in the same order received.

The top bolts will require regular tightening, not entirely sure what you mean by that, happy to add more detail for clarification. When it comes to install of this rack, you will mount with a rubber isolator that seals itself to the roof so no silicone is required but still can be used if the customer desires. This rubber isolator will also isolate any rattles from being transferred to the cab. So far we have done 4 installs with zero water into any cab and it is winter here in Utah so we would see it if it did. Regardless of all this. For this rack and how technical the install can be, we highly recommend professional install.

We won't lie, getting a full width tent on this rack will not be an easy task, but do we have accessories to make it easier? yes. Our HD tent mounts will make it a lot easier to mount the tent. If you want a quick removal system for your tent, you will be rising the center of gravity quite a bit but there are plenty of different mounts for tents to make it easy off and easy on (to an extent).

We do offer installs at our facility. So far what we are seeing is this rack will be a 4 hr job. We can quote for parts and labor once we get pricing on the rack, it is still being determined. Yes, we charge tax based on what local state and federal requires us to. When we are not required to tax the customer, we do not.

We appreciate it! so far our crossbars are right about the height of the top of the shark fin on the rear of the cab.

Let us know if you have anymore questions.

Here is a picture of it with a GFC topper we did for one of our preproduction test models on a white RR.

That is great, do you have a 90 degree side pic that shows the height better? I am pretty critical of photography, a few of your posted images on this thread are pretty distorted (fish eye effect), probably due to your camera, I assume your phone, they look a little amateurish. At least use an iPhone ;) The ones on your website look terrific. Post a RR pic like this Grenadier one. It has minimal distortion, you could put a straight edge across any part of it! Thanks!

Yes shots are with iphone. Those Grenadier pictures are actually just renders, not even real. We will get those upon launch of the Ranger Rack for you.

Got it. I'll be patient. Interested in seeing how you did it.

Any timeframe on pre-orders now that you've installed some pre production units?

Preorders will open sometime in March. Our marketing team now has the ball in their court to start making assets. delivery would be late April more than likely.
