2024 Ford Ranger Lariat, 4x4 FX4.
Picked my '25 up on 3/21 and it's the 2.3L 4x4 built week of 3/18. Tried the 19-24 engine cover yesterday and discovered it didn't come close to matching. Upon looking around I discovered the "new engine" post implying there is a new 2.3L version for 2025. I'm heading back to the dealer today to look at base model mustangs and broncos to see if the engines are the same.

Maybe this is the reason they haven't approved the '24 2.3L Pro Cal tune on the '25s ?
What I found out from SEMA last year was that Ford put each tune though a 100,000 mile test before it is approved. There is also CARB paperwork for each model year that needs to be filed. 90% chance, California is holding up the show.

The 25s have a new motor! It's entirely new to the Ranger, believe it one or two years old in the Explorer? I wouldn't hold my breath, but you'll see a tune one day

Just checked Ford Performance Parts site and they don't show a tune for any of the new 2.3's; Mustang, Bronco, or Ranger.

https://performanceparts.ford.com/calibrations/

Since the Mustang came out with the new engine first ('24 ) I suspect it will also have the tune available first. If you follow that theory we may not see anything for at least a year.

The specs on this new Ranger engine used in the base Mustang last year are as follows. My theory is Ford didnt really de tune it much but just used last years numbers so as to not rob sales from the 2.7. If that is the case it really doesnt need a tune!

"The 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost utilizes a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. It features a new Modular Power Cylinder (MPC) engine architecture and a smaller twin-scroll turbo for improved performance and fuel efficiency. The 0-60 time is 4.9 seconds, and the EPA-estimated combined fuel economy is 24 mpg."

I realize my opinion may not hold much water, but then I am the cautious type when prognosticating what a auto maker will actually claim and then put on the ground.

Are these performance spec's pulled from the Mustang version? If so, I'd be inclined to wait and see what the Ranger spec's actually are. Just sayin'.

Yes and I totally agree with that statement. I was just guessing. The explorer for 2024 with the same engine has lower numbers.

Someone posted on Reddit they got a Lariat for 49215 this year. 580 hp.

different states have better rebates than others.

I know in IL there’s going be another 4 k rebate for electric cars in January, but who knows if the other rebates will still be available.

You like your 50k Lariat fully loaded, that’s great.

I like my 0 optioned Stx for 32k.
And around me they are $5-$6k off on 24 models. I just got my 2X4 STX 24' with tinted windows, bed liner, and easy open tail gate for $28k with an MSRP of $34k+ dealer BS addons. I made them give me everything at cost including the Ford 100k mile warranty and walked out with TTL for $32k. Not saying i got the best deal, but Im happy with the deal I got. We got sweet ass trucks, all of us! I love mine.

all us texas people might be able to get together for a state pic. that would be cool if some parts of texas weren't 11 hours from other parts

Hopefully they come out with a speed oriented tune. I have a 2 wheel drive and really want to set her up as a sport truck. I wont hold my breath though.
i think that would be awesome. lower the truck, add a rear sway bar and some wide lower profile tires. probably would fun. just don't race any 2.0 turbo wranglers. even with the tune on my 2wd stx, my wife's stock 2019 wrangler smokes my truck

That's unfortunate and emasculating lol. The RSs had 350, and Mavericks are pushing that or more woth the 2.0. I bet its our transmission gearing not specd for acceleration. Still the truck as is is pretty quick, I'd like to see a 6G pushing 400+, that would be alot of fun.
