I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that they were the ones that wrote the Ford Performance tunes for the 2024s.
They very well may have, but I’m thinking there would be actual testing on a 24 Ranger and data logging prior to releasing to ford performance.

For the 22 tune I’m guessing there was just a copy and paste from a 21 tune but never tested on an actual truck. Well there was testing on an actual truck, it was my brand new 22.

Well it’s the only tune available right now.
Yea i gotcha, MPG's matter to me it's all a balancing act, just looking at the other side of the equation LOL.

I just had the Ford Performance tune installed today. My initial impressions are pretty positive. The powertrain feels much smoother. The low-end torque is very welcomed. I haven’t had a chance to drive it much, just my 23-mile commute to work, mixed highway and stop and go. I reset my gas mileage and before the tune I was seeing 21.3, on my commute I was achieving about 22.3 but I do expect that number to drop a little (partly from remote start).

Personally, I don’t mind paying for 93 octane. Every vehicle I own and have owned is typically tuned for it anyways. I wanted the 2.7 but they were harder to come across, so I bought the 2.3 with the plan to tune it to get the missing power. I’m pretty happy with it, I’m sure other tuners will be able to get more power out of it though. I want to find a nice stretch of road to open it up on, I’m curious how it will feel after looking at the dyno graph Ford shows with power dipping above 5k rpm compared to the stock tune.

Alright! Thanks for the update. While 93 is fine to use and probably a good safety buffer, I believe 91 is the minimum for the tune. Not sure if 91 is available in your area however.

Yea, 91+ is what the tune requires but everything here is 93 luckily.

Also, I just noticed I misread the dyno graph Ford had posted so my only concern was just from my own incompetence lol.

Got the tune installed this morning. Definitely an improvement in driveability with the extra low end torque and more fun to drive. So far, shifting seems better as well and I haven't noticed the hiccup between gears. Shift points are more like the '22 to be honest. Was getting 24+ mpg so we will see how that goes.

Cant wait to fill up with 93 and see how it does. It will take some time for the ECU to
unleash all the power on the higher octane. Also plan to put it on the Dyno. will post up pics
when done.

Looking for ProCal installers in the Charlotte NC area. Like most, I have found a decent price for the 2024 Ranger 2.3L tune, but struggling to find an ASE / Ford shop that does installs in this area. Most Ford dealers in the area don't sell or install Ford Performance Tunes.
I want to have it installed by a certified mechanic / shop in order to maintain warranty.

For those who have ordered and installed this yourself, congrats !
For those who had someone do it, did you register and preload the tuner prior taking it in to have the tune installed ?

TIA

FYI, just got off the phone with FPP tech support and they have not released the M-9603-REBA 2025 MY version yet. He said they have no specific ETA, just check back monthly.

Go to your local ford dealer and talk to the commercial repair department, not the normal repair side, those guys are boneheads.

The commercial guy did the download and install for me, while i waited

Picked my '25 up on 3/21 and it's the 2.3L 4x4 built week of 3/18. Tried the 19-24 engine cover yesterday and discovered it didn't come close to matching. Upon looking around I discovered the "new engine" post implying there is a new 2.3L version for 2025. I'm heading back to the dealer today to look at base model mustangs and broncos to see if the engines are the same.

Maybe this is the reason they haven't approved the '24 2.3L Pro Cal tune on the '25s ?
