I’m sure I’ll get booted out on my first thread. I was going to buy a Ranger Raptor but it had begun to be a bidding war with people who have bottomless pockets. 5, 10, even 20k over msrp. Most you guys have to be embarrassed. Now listen, if you look for used, you will be way ahead. For some reason a lot of people are dumping them with very little mileage hundreds to a couple thousand. Probably because of the muscle car mileage of the 70’s. Now that I have said that, please don’t drive those prices up.

I don't think anyone plans to boot you for an opinion...

I am in the PNW as well, and had to travel a long way to get an MSRP deal locked in. Without any bidding wars - many NW dealers were asking additional markups in the ranges you speak of (5-15K) without any offers from potential buyers. I spoke with all of them that had RRs on lots in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California, since my original order I placed got hung up in QC hell in Michigan at the assembly plant. This region has a tendency to "tax" many outdoor recreation products from various manufacturers.

I have never heard of anyone paying over 10k MSRP, even in the first few weeks when barely any had been delivered. At most I've seen people here say they paid $5k over.

After the shipments started coming through it has been pretty easy to locate RRs on dealer lots without a markup or with a very small ($2k) markup. My local dealer had a white model sitting on the lot for weeks with no markup until someone finally bought it and I live in a pretty big populous metro area.

I agree - to be clear I posted what dealers were asking, not necessarily what they were getting. Most that had 15-20K markups I talked to dropped to 5K ADM without much effort. They just were too proud/greedy to accept my MSRP offer, so I had to find one further away.

Well I’m from the Pacific Northwest and these dealers are nuts. All of them because I looked. Landmark ford is the most at about 17k. Southern Washington is a little better. Forget Seattle.

Supply/Demand It's that simple.
Here, 6G Rangers are so rare they are hard to find in stock, and if you do, dealers aren't budging on MSRP, even though F150s have $6K off MSRP.

I'm in Oregon so understand your pain... I spoke with Pierre Ford in the Seattle Metro and they were at 15K over initially. They were also buying additional units from Midwest dealers and adding a premium to the price I found out after speaking to their sales manager. Talked to Bowen Scarff in Kent, WA and I wasn't sure on their pricing as the two allocations they had were listed on Ford.com, but were already spoken for.

Looks like you bought a different trim level Ranger based on your profile - but if still looking for a Ranger Raptor cast a wider net in your searches; you might still find some value out there beyond the PNW.

Need to just be persistent to avoid paying over MSRP. Atlanta region Ford dealers are asking $5, 10 15K over MSRP which is just pure greed. Found my RR on the lot at a dealer in north Georgia. Paid MSRP. Drove a little to save a lot!

It's just the region you are in...here just about every dealer is willing to sell at MSRP, that is if they have one to sell! When I bought mine there was only a couple left in my state, and only a few left on order, which were already spoken for

The more affluent the market area, the more you are going to run into these situations. You are probably going to have either order with a dealer that will stick to MSRP or start searching out of state.

I suppose because the dealership think they can and do. They'll give the excuse of market value. Each are has its own market value.👍🇺🇸

As others have said, if you are willing to travel a bit and put in some work either calling around or putting in internet inquiries you can find one at MSRP. It took me around 3 weeks to find one but it saved me thousands based on local prices.

I did buy a Lariat model 2 k under msrp. Right color 18” wheels put a 2.5 front lift and had the windows tinted. It was the best I could do. As crazy as I am I’m still looking. But for the ones still in the market, go used. Like I said there’s a lot of people selling because of gas mileage and premium gas. The deal here in Oregon is not much of a sales tax.

Plenty of bad actors out there.... had mine on order day 1. No price gouging OTD price 58k flat tax included fully loaded (less sticker package) midwest ohio smalltown dealer. There are good, honest dealers out there. I like working with my sales guys where I buy my vehicles from.

I paid sticker, ordered it directly from Mike Rey at Gorno Ford, Woodhaven, MI USA. Flew from North Carolina as each dealer I spoke to wanted $10, $20 one $30,000 over list. Mike and Gorno great to work with too.
