I bought a basic set of Shrader TPMS with my setup; I didn't have to do anything, plug n play, truck recognized them with no issues.
That's kinda what I'm thinking/hoping.....

For those of us buying new (oem or aftermarket) wheels for our rangers, what are you doing about TPMS? Is the oem tpms a common 315mhz? What, if anything, has to be done when installing these (anything in forscan, or just resetting tire pressure in the dash or something)?

I'm looking at these but haven't found any specific reference to what our rangers use from the factory: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRQVG1JK?th=1
I like to use Autel MX programmable sensors. They can be used to copy the sensor ID's of the factory sensors so you can swap them and they don't have to be learned to the truck.

I think we’re thinking alike; I was going to “gamble” on the ones on Amazon that I shared a link for, but Ranger/hobb shared a link that has me thinking that the frequency isn’t 315mhz but might be 433. I’d appreciate your sharing your experience here so we can all learn from it.
My new wheels got here yesterday so I dropped everything off at my tire shop and had them check those Amazon sensors... He said they all worked right away. So I'll pick up my new set up in the morning! How long the sensors last, who knows.

Don't know if the link will work but I got these ones.

I just swapped out factory wheels and tires on my FX4 Lariat 2.7 yesterday (Falken Wildpeak - 265/70R17), and my local shop just used the same factory TPMS sensors. Displayed air pressure versus actual was spot on.

Threadjacking...are you lifted? What wheel backspace/offset did you go with?

2" leveling kit from SuperLift (available on Amazon).
Tires: Falken Wildpeak: LT265 70R/17
Wheels: SM99 (FR99) 17x9 Satin Black 2/ Gray Ring +18mm offset

It's a very affordable setup, and the tires are very quiet on the road. Front-end is a tiny bit higher than the rear, but I'm not going to worry about it for now.

Can confirm, get a set and truck will read them automatically - 315 MHz TPMS. I rotated wheels today with the spare and was quick and easy.

That's what I was hoping for. Mine did not read automatically. Tried to get them working, the scanner tool would not communicate with the truck for whatever reason. The shop worked on it for about an hr. May have to pop the sensors out of the factory wheels. Unless the trying to relearn screwed that up too... Pain in the ass!

Confusingly, Ford Parts lists a 433 MHZ sensor for a 2024 Ranger Raptor (Part #: ML3Z1A189B) - it even labels it as "Tire Inflation Monitor. Tire Pressure Sensors 433 MHZ. ".

Obviously everyone's experience above confirms they're actually 315 MHZ, and indeed, the manual specifies them as " 315 Faraday Gen 6 TPMS Sensor" (i.e. 315 MHZ).

Can anyone confirm what the TPMS re-learn procedure for the Ranger is when swapping wheels with different sensors (e.g. from a set of winter to summer wheels, each with different set of sensors in it)? Is a TPMS scan tool required?

I ordered one 315Mhz sensor from TPMS.com to put in a spare OEM wheel with the spare tire we got in the Raptors. All this so I could do 5 wheel rotations without unmounting and remounting tires. In my opinion it would be a waste of a really good and pricey tire you may never use. And rubber has a terrible shelf life. So I can confirm when I rotated tires last weekend, it picked up the new sensor without my my needing to do anything short of starting the truck.

I'm curious about this now. You added a tpms sensor to the spare; does the truck then monitor all 5 wheel's pressure? Or do you do something to promote the spare to active when you rotate it in?

It will only read 4 tires. Not sure where the receiver(s) is(are) but I'd read on previous gen, there is a module around the headliner center stack by the sunglass holder. How it knows what tire is what is a mystery to me. Older vehicles with TPMS, the receiver was around each wheel hub, so each tires TPMS needed to be close to the receiver to be read. I don't believe that is the case for the 6G Ranger.

What I do know is I bought the TPMS for the spare, took it in to have the tire mounted to a new OEM rim so I could use it with rotations and put it back in the spare spot. Last weekend I rotated tires, and it was reading a pressure. Recently, I added about 5psi to each wheel as the cold had dropped pressure significantly. I did not add any to the rotated out spare, so the pressure showing on the dash is positively the newly rotated in spare.

I did all my own rotation without a tire shop and without any relearn tool and without any fancy change pressure and key push learn procedures.

Very nice look and Stance. I’m wondering how much poke you have? I’m seriously considering this for myself. Thanks in advance. Gary

Thanks. Admittedly, I stole the idea from another guy here on the forum, but I really like it. The poke is about 2" which is perfect for me.

Thanks for the pics. I think that looks solid on your truck. 👍🏻 I appreciate you taking the time.
