It's winter - deep snow - I want to remove the running boards and would like to have the tools ready before I crawl under.
Thanks!

Six bolts a side; I added the stainless-steel filler, but one would only need to remove the brackets to the boards from the body. It was pretty easy.
When you reattach the boards, use Loctite Blue to help keep the bolts in place.

Thanks for that - The brackets can stay attached to the boards when removed?
I want it all gone ...

Yes...only the six bolts on each side. My pic was just an example of my application with the filler, but you would just take off the brackets from the body unless it was easier to store them separately. Not all new Rangers come with running boards, so they have to be installed by the factory in holes that were already in place. Very easy to remove and re-install if wanted.

FYI, the sides of your truck are going to get really really nasty in winter without the running boards, at the very least you need to have large mudflaps in the front. Even then, it will get pretty gross all over the doors… bring a spray bottle of fresh water so you can clean off the handles and keep the sand, salt and deicer chemicals (such as mag chloride) off your hands… do you mind telling us why exactly you think they should come off?

A set of XL RokBlokz will be delivered on Wednesday - boards will be removed during that install.
We get winter bigtime here - near 150" this year. The boards hold frozen salty slop next to the body, sit too high, don't want to trust that icy platform on entry/exit. I'm going to remove them - if they are missed - they can be put back.

I wish you were closer. I would take those old boards from you. Or my son would also since he doesn't have any on his truck yet as he has only had it for a week or two.

With gow much snow you get, i know you are not near the bottom of texas, where i am. My son is in omaha ne, if thats closer.

I've already tested it out running the two-tracks - less slop up the side of the truck then before the flaps were installed and the running boards on. Bottom line is - I like it, plan on having fun with this truck and it will have evidence of this.
As far as the boards are concerned - not for sale - have them tucked away.
Edit -- going on 200" of snow this year and the heaviest snows come after spring arrives.
