Rocker panel holes.

This was discussed in the 5g forum a few years back with no conclusive answer . It seems some 5g rangers had the holes plugged in their rockers and some didn’t. My 2020 did have plugs. While under my 2024 I found they weren’t plugged. I went to the dealership and he looked it up and ordered them for me. 10 on each side. When leaving I looked at the new rangers on the lot and none were plugged Leave them open and there will be rust issues down the road so why does it show plugs for the rockers when the parts guy looked it up and the aren’t building Them with them ?

I found the thread on the 5G forum and ordered these based off it:

Worst case, I will return them if they do not fit. I noticed these holes also last week when I was underneath fluid filming it and douched those holes pretty good with the film just in case.

That’s how I found mine … I used the wools wax this time supposed to be thicker than the fluid film. I couldn’t tell much difference

Truth be told, I actually used Blaster Surface Shield. Been using it the last couple of years. WoolWax is pretty good also and a step over Fluid Film.

These are the plugs that Ford gave me. I haven’t tried them yet

Got the plugs from Amazon mentioned in my previous post. They installed with no issue and fit great. I do not think these holes are meant to be left open for any drainage as there is drain opening at the bottom of the pinch welds below these holes. Think this is just another quality escapement from Ford once again.

I haven’t installed the ones from ford . They gave me 10 instead of 20. I guess they thought the truck only had I rocker panel. lol
