I have had conversations with several Ranger Raptor owners on the concept of a future Ranger Raptor R.

This would be my perfect truck:

-Widen the truck to at least 80in and give us the marker lights and orange DRLs back.
-Coyote 5.0 with over 500hp and 500tq
-10R80 transmission
-35s and suspension travel numbers closer to the f150 Raptor
-Beefed-up steering rack, tie rods, and upper and lower arms.
-A bigger fuel tank with at least a 500-mile range
-Fox 3.0's with rebound and compression adjustments similar to the f150 Raptor
-Price under 80k
-A/C seats

I think a Ranger with this spec would completely dominate the midsize market. There would be no more debating ZR2 and TRD Pro nonsense.

What would Ford have to build for you to consider buying one?

So more or less you want an F-150 Raptor with a Dark Horse motor.
No, the size of the Ranger works much better for my use case. The Ranger's width being increased a couple of inches wouldn't make it even close to the size of an F150 Raptor.

IMO they should have ventilated seats in all Rangers trims Lariat and above, but especially in a theoretical RRR. I'd like to see a more aggressive front bumper with provisions for a winch on top of what was already mentioned

This all sounds good. Even if they stuck with the 3.0L, they should be able to get more power out of it. Ram is getting 540 Hp out of a 3.0L. Also redesign the bed to not need J-braces and fix the gaps in the tailgate.

Just buy a Raptor R at that point lol. Also, surprised no one has mentioned rear seat vents and grab handles considering all the complaints about that.

I doubt we will see a Raptor R version of the ranger, it doesnt make sense in the current market and position of what this truck is and it would cannibalize their own sales for 150 Raptor R.

The 150 will always be the bell cow. The Bronco doesnt compete with the 150 so they can do whatever they want with that, but the ranger does compete with the 150. I think they will most likely do a few special edition Ranger Raptors instead that will be appearance packages or various enhanced off roading editions.

I would settle for a programmer that would add the same 45hp / 60ft-lbs to the RR as the one Ford has for the standard 2.3L Ranger. If they throw in a bigger Intercooler to keep the charge temps down under hard driving, I would be first in line. That’s basically what I’m waiting on Ford to do for the standard RR. They better hurry, or 5-Star / COBB / Whipple will beat them to it!

Yeah add rear vents and Grab handles to all the Rangers! The Ranger Raptor R would not effect F150 Raptor R sales. The Ranger customer is not really going to buy an F150 he does not want that size of truck.
must haves for Ranger Raptor R
3.5 ho pumped up to 500+ horsepower
5.0 V8
the new Fox shocks off the F150
front vented seats
J braces standard
35 inch wheels
orange lights in the grill
Bronco Raptor steering rack and beefed up tie rods
bigger gas tank
6500 pounds towing
and leave it a trail happy size.

Leave it to SubaruRaptor to come in here tell eveyone quit dreaming because he said it not going to happen.

Agree with all upgrades, especially grab handle on driver’s side. Would love more power and ventilated seats. Don’t have room for F150 in garage and couldn’t leave that outside. Emerald green metallic would be a great paint option.

Hate to think how hard it would be to land one anywhere near MSRP, but fun to dream…

Why would they make a cheaper truck than the F150 Raptor that is more capable? They will never do it.

I'm interested in seeing a 5.0 swap in the near future. If the 3.0 ever shits it self after warranty ends I think I'd want a coyote swap.

You realize at current price we are only 25kish away from an 150. Adding things costs money, thus making them equivalent. So while I agree with you that the ranger consumer is not looking at a f150, when the prices are similar, the conversation changes. Which is why I dont believe they will make an R varient of the ranger.

I also already kicked around the idea that if I keep my RR long term and the EcoBoost fails I'd coyote swap it - the engine bay has plenty of room for that block.
