Just want to give a fair warning to you guys chasing the best 0-60, I brake boosted a launch and it detonated my rear diff. I had done it a few times but after I installed the tune it went kaboom. Thankfully Ford had my rear axle replaced in a week. Could have been a freak thing but who knows!

Appreciate the warning! Seems like an outlier based on all the others who have been launching their trucks and not having similar concerns.

Agreed, I haven't heard of it happening to anyone else. Just one of those things that is fine until it isn't!

Did you have any wheel hop when it blew, was rear diff locked?

Not locked and no wheel hop, as soon as I let off the brake it busted and just didn't go anywhere. I do have 35" mud tires which probably didn't do my any favors, plus I was in 2wd.

Your Ford dealer must like you. Mine did it & $7k later I was back on the road.

why did Ford not cover it for free? I’m guessing you had aftermarket tune and upgraded turbos alread.

Don't be scared to launch it. I blew the transmission at 600 miles. Have replaced the rear diff, both rear axles, driveshaft, etc. I was at fault, not the truck. @welker was running 35" mud tires. There are parts on this platform that need upgraded if you're going to beat on it, other parts will take a beating.

I'd suggest using DLC coatings on the driveline and engine to cut down on friction losses, you will pick up a 1/10th or two while increasing the load bearing capability of the fluid film.

Been using it since release in 2017 on all my GDI vehicles to minimize oil consumption and wear on daily drivers. Doing the RR once the material arrives in the mail.

Back when I was tracking my 2016 Mustang GT PP with a Stage 2 Power Pack, some of us (not me) had GT's dynoed and they were picking up around 20 RWHP due to reducing friction losses.

Some auto guys were also using it to lower trans temps tracking the 2018+ newer GT's with the 10R80's. Great tech and pairs well with Ford's Pro Cal or a completely stock truck.
