I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this experience. This morning it was about freezing ~30F and my keyless entry (door handle grab) absolutely would not work no matter how many times I tried to get it to activate on my 24 raptor.

Not really a huge issue, but curious to see if anyone else has hit this issue in cold temps or if this was just an anomaly?

It was -24C here last week. One day, the door would not unlock when I grabbed the handle. I tried several times deliberately. I tapped the sensor on the front of the handle and the door would lock/lights would flash. Tried again to unlock, and nothing.
Once I unlocked with the fob, I tried the handle again and it worked.

Yeah I have one door, specifically the rear driver door that's really hard to close, probably going to adjust the strikers, the others are ok on mine.

My driver's side rear door too. I adjusted the hood last week, I guess the door is next...

This is exactly what happened to me, once unlocked with the fob it was fine but absolutely did not work first try no matter what I did. Seemed to be strange, glad I'm not the only one though!

By chance did you enable approach lighting with Forscan?

Having this same problem as the guy you originally asked but nothing has been coded with Forscan on my truck yet, completely factory.

I’ve have one installed from new and there are no issues with in cold winter or hit summer operation. However as it’s battery powered, the battery can be affected by sever cold weather operation. Just as any other battery powered device including EV automobiles.

Example; EV’s in temperatures sustained below freezing, loose up to and beyond 40%+charging capability. So, if you’re in sustained climates that sustain below freezing temps, it’s not uncommon.

Also, keep in mind this is wireless device, not powered by the truck electrical system. So, it’s solely dependent upon a small lithium battery and wireless signa.🇺🇸

I think you're confusing the intelligent access door sensors and the keyless pad. We're not talking about the keyless pad, we're talking about the sensors built into the door handle for intelligent access (which are wired).

OP’s title for the thread; a touch pad is keyless entry isn’t it? If your talking about the “door handle keyless sensor” specifically, then why not just specify it directly…..🇺🇸

However, in colder climates that sustain severe freezing temps, grease solidifies on the locking and unlocking mechanism and causes this problem.

This has happened on many vehicles and reported regularly; with the “wrong grease” applied and the vehicle is left out in the freezing ambient conditions overnight the lock mechanism won’t function.

There are different greases used for different climates. Wrong grease applied, it will literally solidify.

Otherwise, the lights will come on and you’ll hear an audible mechanical function but the door won’t unlock.🇺🇸
