On line search, for 2025 Ford Ranger 2.3L engine update after I read your post and this information came up. I almost order mine with the 2.7L V6 but after test driving both, I didn't notice a huge difference in performance, the 2.3 has plenty of power and torque, better fuel economy and now with PFI, for my needs, it's like music to my ears.

Im just happy they made this change. The new engine is with the new turbo and wastegate is much more responsive around town. Im wondering now if they changed the inside of the oil pan so you can use an oil extractor from the top.

Here is a good review of the new 2.3 for 2025. I didnt realize the posted fuel mileage is better than the 2024 also. I do know Ive been getting 27 mpg on our two lane 55mph roads and Im still not broken in.

It's great to hear that and I think it will be even better with the addition of a tonneau cover, the guys at TFL compared with or without a cover, with the cover, it showed a gain of 2 to 3 MPGs, for a ranger to get almost 30 MPG and non hybrid, that is fantastic!

Me too digging the chrome package, I traded in my 23 silver Lariat non-chrome for the same 24 Silver lariat with chrome package, looks sooooo much better. I am so over the black out murdered look.

Yep. Me too. They did away with the chrome mirror caps and door handles on the 25's but I still like the look.

Doing 55-60 i bet i get 27mpg in my 24. I did the first two ling out of town trips and we were doing 70+.

Now that its got 4k on it, i get 19.9 with all in town stop and go and waiting in drive through lines. And i have that stupid auto start/stop off so that is full time running gas mileage.

I do hope it stays that high after it breaks in more. I wonder if this engine will be like the ecoboost my wife's 15 escape had and at around 50k miles, it suddenly gained 6 mpg. Just magically driving back feom cali we went from 21 to 27mpg and it stayed like that from than onward

The EPA mileage ratings are 2 mpg better on the highway in the 25 also.
