The spare that came with my XLT w/ FX4 package has a smaller wheel (same tire diameter) compared with the stock tires on my truck and isn’t a proper full sized spare. I’m curious if anyone has a setup where they tried to swap in a full sized spare?

Im considering trying to fit one of my wheels into the spare location to see if it fits, but figured I’d see if anyone has checked already before I go through the hassle.

If it's the same diameter, I can't think of any reason that a matching wheel and tire wouldn't fit.

Raptors come with a full sized 33” spare tire, your bed should be exactly the same.

Just took a look under my XLT. There is about 2" between the spare and the inside of the hitch/bumper bar, and probably the same between the other side of the tire and the differential. A 33" would be pretty tight on a regular Ranger, but should fit. Is it tight on the Raptors, or do they create more space somehow?

The Raptor's have the 7 pin connector located under the bumper to fit the 33" tire. Non-Raptors have the connector in the bumper. Something to consider.

The plus side of that is that everyone seems to smack the RR pin connector on rocks and stuff.

I fit a full sized 35 under the truck on my RR. It’s tight near the exhaust (which already has a heat deflector on it) but so was the stock 33.
