Yesterday I sound deadened the four doors and was amazed with the results.

I have material left over and would like to deaden the vertical bulkhead behind the rear seat.

Before I jump in I was wondering if anyone in the community has removed and reinstalled the liner?

If so, how difficult to do and any suggestions/pointers before I begin?

thank you,
Gary

My general plan was to remove the back seat and then go at it. I tried taking things down with the back seats in place and it seems like there's a lot of bits to get to under the seat.

This video shows how to remove the rear seat, it's from the 5th gen ranger but I'm guessing it's pretty close to how the 6th gen works. Doesn't look too hard to remove, just a few bolts.

So the instructions are the same for the 6G.
  1. Remove left and right rear headrests
  2. Flip seat up
  3. Torx T50 for the seatbelt carriers
  4. Unplug the center seatbelt sensor plug and fish the center seatbelt up through the seat
  5. Fish the seatbelt sockets through the bottom of the seat, there's some elastic retainers for the sockets
  6. Fold the seat back down, then fold the back of the seat forward and lock in place
  7. Peel the carpet forward on the left and right sides of the seat, there are two 13mm bolts right next to the C-pillar
  8. Remove those bolts
  9. Tilt the seat forward and wrestle it out the door
  10. Reconnect the center seatbelt sensor

Not that bad, took me about 30 mins to remove. Definitely much better access to all the parts and you can now see the stock subwoofer in all its glory.

(edit: better picture)

I will be removing mine for trips. Has anyone built a diy platform for their back seat yet?

Curious what others come up with. I know Goose Gear has an option coming (maybe?). It's been listed as coming soon on their website since last June. It's pricey so might just do my own depending on what it looks like, when it's ready and how much free time I have in the coming few months.
