My factory spray-in bedliner seems to scrape easily showing a whilte residue !

Anyone else experience a "not so tough"
Factory bedliner? I would think it would be tougher and harder and more resistant to scraping when carrying items in the bed!

I always pass-up the factory bedliner personally. It delays your build and you can get a way better liner for the same price from Line-X.

However, the bedliner is perfectly fine IMO. I think you are being a little unfair. Its a truck bed. Scrapes and scratches are gonna happen. It'll happen on paint, Fords liner, or Line-X. Scrapes on the factory liner are probably from grinding away whatever you are dragging in the bed. It's almost like sandpaper. If you are that worried about it then I would suggest putting down a bed rug.

I have no experience with the factory liner. Mine came with none so I had a Line-X one done and it seems to be up to the task. Had a heck of a time trying to scrape some away to remove cargo tie down points in order to install swing out bed box.

I have the factory bedliner. Mine seems rock solid. I thought I had scraped it a couple times, but it was dirt or whatever from containers I was carrying. Washed right off. I rarely haul anything heavy in the RR tho...have a super duty truck for that

I've found bed liners to be hit or miss, whether from the factory or a 3rd party, for whatever reasons. As has been mentioned, it's a truck bed so it'll get beat, and when mine does I sometimes get a spray can for touch up to prevent rust. I've also taken to using a bed mat to keep the bed floor mostly intact, and remove it when I need to.

I would check out BedRug.

I might do this myself over the factory liner.

I'm thinking about Line X and wonder about prep.

The bed has the tie down cleats and a number of unused threaded holes. I'm thinking it might be wise to remove the tie down cleats and then put bolts in those and all the other threaded holes.

It seems like the Line X folks would cover or otherwise consider these things. I'll ask specifically in advance.

My Line-X franchise sprayed right over the cleats and the bolts that hold them in. If I was to have the do it again on another truck, I would remove them and partially insert throw-away bolts to cover the threads temporarily.

I had a Line-X installed a week after purchase. They removed or taped up everything in the bed necessary. Finish was great. Had a little work to install the swing-out Ford lock box but no biggie. I installed the Ford rubber bed mat over the spray-in. Pretty happy with it.
