Oh Canada. Good thing Trudeau is giving VW 12 billion and climbing for a battery plant. Just spending our tax's dollars frivolously
No kidding huh! All I hear about is how much people hate corporate ‘subsidies’ because companies aren’t taxed at 100% of their income. Trudeau actually gives out billions (thanks for your generous contribution Brian!) & nobody says a word.

Hope this link works! The other day it went to the 2023, but appears finally that 2024 is up.

Ok I ticked a bunch of accessories too & just about every box that exists on the Lariat. I can tell I’m getting used to post pandemic car pricing when I can say that $60k for this doesn’t seem too bad.

Nice! Almost a clone of my build! Same color, FX4, only I added Lariat Lux pkg-wanted the B&O. Good luck hope we get our trucks by Christmas!

I had no idea CA had to wait for the 2024 build and price. I assumed once it went up, it was nationwide. MJE, we really are being condition when that MSRP you have sounds "about right." I remember car shopping with my dad in 1972 and purchasing a $2,000 Gran Tarino was expensive to him. He about passed out over a $12,000 Corvette! I myself remember thinking that was out of this world money! That build is a beauty though!

I’m a little younger than you I must admit, but one of the first cars I really remember in my childhood was something very close to this. I was lamenting to my dad about the difficulty of finding listings in as nice a condition as I’d like to have & thinking about the cost involved as anything nice that old isn’t cheap at all. If I had $15K to throw at a travel van I’d have $15K to throw at a daily.

So trying to relate, I asked how much he paid. $18k is what he recalled. Run that through a conversion calculator. $75K today. Which I suppose is cheap for an RV nowadays. But it gives me some idea of the financial commitment a dude then in his early 30s had to lay out. If that doesn’t seem expensive enough, these things were basically empty boxes with a family room’s worth of wood paneling & shag remnants.

So going back a few years earlier I can sure imagine a $12K corvette would’ve seemed like all the money in the world at the time! Heck you could’ve bought a house! Almost. Of course nowadays we’re into $100K full size trucks, which is getting too close to what I borrowed for my first house. An F150 Raptor R would even be more than I paid for that house….

Wow azure gray is $800. in Canada and $995 in the US
I find that weird, really weird actually. I know the price difference is less than the exchange rate, but I’d never expect even one individual option to cost less here than it does there even before considering the exchange!

I'm on a 84 month loan right now... But it's at 0% APR lol

S*** I'd snap up a 100+ month loan as long as it was at 0% all day long. 😆

Does anyone know if the standard trailer tow package is truly only the class IV hitch receiver and wiring? I’m trying to decide if I should just install wiring and a hitch receiver down the road
https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a37773613/new-car-buying-advice-always-get-the-hitch/
I’m a fan of always adding the towing since I always think it costs no more to do up front then it’s done without messing around any.

It does look like it’s just receiver & wiring though for the standard one, whereas the advanced does add more.

Sweet !! Now how long will you have to wait to have it in your drive way.
Around 43K USD for XLT build, 50K Cnd
A lot longer than it used to take to be sure!
Really that’s a 16% increase, 7K on 43. I’m always thankful these price differences turn out to be less than the exchange rate predicts!

And people complain that the raptor is 58K in the U.S ....

$12K in tax ?!? 😮 I tried to build something quite similar, I might’ve checked a box less than you for options. I got ’just’ $4K in tax which makes it seem a little more reasonable at least.

Nice! I might’ve missed ticking a box somewhere along the way as I’m just playing around in the configurator. I’m the buyer, if there’s an option box I’m ticking it. But I haven’t ordered yet, still probably a year out from making a decision or doing anything. Hope you get yours by Christmas then, nice gift to get!

Oh yeah I’d have the 84 month loan they start offering me too if it was at 0%! Nice!

As others have said, yes, get the added class IV hitch receiver and wiring added if you plan on towing (And, yes, that is all it comes with that package, but it is worth it). It looks more professional, is welded on well, and is usually cheaper then aftermarket, and less hassle for you down the road.

Does anybody know if the XL has rear privacy glass? On the builder it looks like it does but there is no compare trims or full specs of each trim level available.

I was wondering about this also. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the XL has privacy glass. The launch videos online of the XL don't have privacy glass. Also, here's a couple comparison images from the build and price between the XL and XLT that shows the back windows are darker:

I saw you are in Alberta, the only province with no provincial tax and only the federal tax. That explains why you ''only'' have 4k in taxes lol. Change your postal code to other provinces and you will see how bad we get it.

I priced out a similar Lariat and Raptor in both US & Canada. Canadian increase on the Lariat was almost 16%. The Raptor was almost 23%. Raptor with almost no options was $80k, all in. Ford does the same thing with the full size trucks. Raptor % increase is more than the other trucks.
I'm officially out of the RR market. It's a killer truck, but not spending $80k (if one even sells for MSRP). I just hope Ford comes out with some decent colors for the Lariat. What's showing currently for the 6G is unbelievably bland.
