Best Auto Start Stop Eliminator ?

I just checked how I was able to shut off the "auto start stop". Here are the steps:
1. Open the main display which shows "radio, phone, navigation, etc. and click Owners Manual.
2. Select Categories
3. Select General Information
4. Select Driving and Operating
5. Now you will see "Auto-Start-Stop
6. Click on than and you will see an option to turn it off or on.

Hope this helps. Again, the 4 cylinder Lariat I drove had a button on the shifter to turn it on and off. I have the 2.7 V6 which allowed me to shut it off permanently.

That is not permanent.

When I do this this I get a notice stating it will last only one key cycle ............... or something to that effect.

Maybe mine is a glitch because the directions I posted have worked for me and my Ranger does not shut off when I stop. If it is a glitch, I'm not complaining.

Well, I have just jinxed myself. I got my Ranger on 9/13 and once I turned off the auto-start-stop my truck had NEVER shut off when I stopped. When I posted the directions I used it worked for me. When I was asked for a screen shot showing where I turned it off, I decided to take a screen shot. When I reached the section to turn it off I got a different screen. The one that initially displayed had the tab you slide to turn a feature on and off. This time I got the notice that says it only works once and must be turned off each time you start the truck. No more slider. I then decided to take a quick ride to confirm my truck didn't turn off when I stopped. As I started my drive I saw my neighbor who has ridden with me numerous times and each time commented how he wished his Lincoln's start-stop could be turned off permanently. I stopped and the truck kept running. I explained what I was doing and I asked him to take a ride and video a series of stop and starts. The first 3 worked as normal and the truck kept running. On the forth stop it shut off and continued to do so until I press the button to deactivate it. Now I am not a happy camper and wish I never responded to this thread.

OK, Today I had to give a friend a ride to drop off his car at his mechanic. I adjusted the temperature and the light on the driver's side knob lit up, and from that point on the truck did not shut off at any lights. SO, it seems as long as you are using the fan for air, the truck will NOT shut off when you stop. If needed I can post a picture.

Turn it off in Ranger Raptor Settings, assuming you don't want all of the "Normal" settings you will have already changed some and saved them....you reactivate saved settings with the double tap on the 'R' button.....

I got mine from overseas, works fine, it stays as you select it event after power cycle, which is what I wanted. The install was not that difficult, but it did require some wiring but everything was handy. Yiu need to get an add-a-circuit fuse, but the Ranger uses micro fuses, so the mini ones will not work. You need to order those in advance, where I live they are not easy to get.

I have added a light bar under tailgate..put a T harness in at trailer connector behind bumper..now the computer see voltage usage at trailer and won't shut off...also see on past tread some one added a night light..led one to 120v in back of council..it see that voltage draw and does not shut down!

That's assuming that everyone has a Raptor.

Sorry thought I was in the Raptor forum. The manual is imprecise as to whether you can save any settings in a non-Raptor - see partial. On my Lariat I just pushed button as part of start up routine.

It's simple to install and once it's in, it's forgotten about. Do you have any young adult millennials around the neighbourhood that could help install it for you? Give them a six pack of microbrew beers and I'm sure they'll help out

I follow these steps and I get a screen that says auto-start-stop is deactivated when you shut off / restart the engine. Auto Hold which activates the brakes when you come to a stop can be permanently activated/deactivated in settings.

Yep, this is only a temporary for auto start/stop toggle. Shut off the truck and it reset to on. It’s not a permanent solution. Been there done that.
