Does anyone know if and when Ford will allow more than one allocation for Ranger Raptor per dealership?

I am sure someone does, but typically at the industry level, allocations on specialty vehicles that are standard series production increase in the second model year. Once they get through 2024 production, I would expect Raptors to be easier to find both on allocation & on the showroom floor.

Also, consider that the automotive market is returning to pre-COVID trends: more inventory, more manufacturer incentives, etc, etc. This should mean, depending on production volumes, that Raptors will be easier to find & negotiate on.

Also Ford is transferring 700 workers from the Lightning Plant and hiring 900 more to add a third shift so i am assuming production will be ripping later this year.

I just don't understand how you got scheduled already as a 2nd order from December.
I ordered mine May 23' and don't even have a build date.

No idea. I guess I just got lucky. Cactus Gray Raptor with no options. After my experience, my conspiracy theory is that someone made up the whole "1 Ranger Raptor per dealer" thing so dealerships have more leverage to get you to pay over msrp.

I talked to 3 other dealers who all tried to get me to pay $10k-$20k over msrp because the one they are selling me is their 1 allocation, and the only reason the other dealership sold me mine for MSRP was because they already sold their allocation with markup, and "It'll take at least a year" for mine to arrive.

Not true.. I've seen the correspondence from Ford to its dealers indicating the one per dealer allocation. What's happened is dealers blew it up spewing out info that was supposed to stay internal. And they got greedy and lied and took more than one order when they weren't even supposed t.o take retail orders at all, originally.

Ford had a plan.. dealers f'd it up for everyone

I'd just like ANY info at all as to what the process is. I've been sitting on a $30k down payment and driving a 20 year old Silverado with no radio and Ford hasn't even scheduled my truck to be built.
I'm just about done dealing with this bullshit.

So you think my dealer messed up and ordered mine when they weren't supposed to? I would assume that Ford would have something in place to keep that from happening. Someone ordered one from my dealership in May when the order banks opened up, and I ordered one in December. Both of our orders are retail orders and we've both been assigned a vin and build date.

Yeah, that's a tough spot. When I ordered mine in December, I fully expected to be waiting atleast a year before I got it. I followed the Maverick release when it first happened, and a lot of people said their trucks were delayed for months because they chose to have ford do the spray-in bedliner. I didn't want any delays so I didnt choose any factory options (luckily there weren't much to choose from anyway).

Yes, originally. There was not supposed to be any retail raptor orders, period. Each dealer was to get one stock unit at the start. This got blown up by dealers either ignoring this or somehow never seeing the several communications from Ford. In such stock and retail orders were submitted and often more than 1.

Ford's screw up was 1) trusting the dealers to keep this info private and that they'd follow the rules 2)not closing the order banks such that retail orders couldn't be submitted.

The dealers were who really f'd this up but ford has some blame too.

Now to what's happening. With Ford's terrible ordering situation with the bronco they have a huge recent black eye. So it seems since this got all f'd up ford is now saying screw what we were going to do and we will just pull orders kinda randomly like they do on all other vehicles, based on dealer size, allocation, commodities available in a given region, etc. So there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why one order gets picked over another on the outside. As both stock and retail orders are being picked up and the time the order was submitted seems to have no bearing on things.

So in the end, the dealers really f'd the Ranger raptor order process from the beginning, but now ford is compounding that by further screwing the process up.

I've lost so much faith in Ford through this process. They can't even use parts constraints as an excuse here, because I selected zero options on my Raptor. Haven't seen a bit of progress since ordering 8 months ago, then there's people that ordered two weeks ago and are already scheduled. The dealership can't tell me anything, the regional rep can't tell me anything, Ford chat can't tell me anything (they're totally incompetent and ended the session before I could respond). Does anybody at Ford actually know what's going on? Doesn't seem like it.

Maybe the official @Ford Motor Company account can provide some answers?

Thanks for the update!! That said, this logic makes no sense on Ford's side. They could have easily rectified the situation by only fulfilling stock orders. At a minumum, If you're going to say "eff it," at least prioritize the order dates, regardless of retail or stock.

If they did either of those scenarios, then buyers can hold their dealer responsible, while also rewarding the good dealers with paying customers. In the beginning, I thought I had lucked out because my dealer submitted my order as "stock." Evidently, it ended up not mattering.

Either way, no harm no foul on my end. Whenever it gets built & shipped, I'll be happy.

I would personally never put down $30K and hopefully it is a refundable deposit.

I assume they meant 30k in the bank as a down payment when they pick it up
