I got the ProCal tune installed by Ford yesterday. Haven't driven a lot yet but I do notice a difference. Surprisingly it seems like I get better gas mileage when I am driving conservatively than before the tune. I got 20MPG on the way home from the dealership and I had never seen any MPG number...
My tin foil hat take is that there were engineers pushing for this to be the stock tune for the RR and Ford said they didn't want to release the Ranger Raptor with the same specs as the base F-150 Raptor and make the F-150 look underpowered by comparison so they sat on this until now and offered...
Towed a ~3500lb small camper with my RR. Got about 12 MPG. Felt great with the load. Towing mode is very nice with all of the options and alerts and automatic camera views when you use blinkers. I've also towed my sand rail with the RR, but it only weighs 1300lbs so it was barely noticeable.
Talked to a Ford Performance dealership yesterday. His Performance rep happened to be in the office when I called. Apparently the tune should start to be available sometime next week. They put a work order in for me to have it done ASAP. I'll check back after with a review.
The color of the instruments in the dash change depending on what mode the truck is in. Normal mode is blue, sport is white, baja is orange, towing is yellow, etc. Looks orange to me. You can also see the off-road only warning in the bottom of the center portion of the instrument cluster screen.
Thousands of unscheduled Rangers and Ford takes THREE weeks off of scheduling any Rangers, and FOUR weeks without scheduling any Ranger Raptors. Only one week of scheduling for Ranger Raptors so far in 2024.
Care to weigh in on why people that ordered 8-9 months ago aren't even scheduled yet when we have people that ordered in December that have build dates already?
Identical trucks, no addons. Why such a huge difference and why not respect the customers that have had orders in for nearly ten times...
I'd just like ANY info at all as to what the process is. I've been sitting on a $30k down payment and driving a 20 year old Silverado with no radio and Ford hasn't even scheduled my truck to be built.
I'm just about done dealing with this bullshit.
