Have you actually given the dealership a chance to look at it and possibly work whatever the issue is? I am actually taking mine in tomorrow for a front driveshaft replacement because the boot wants to sling grease everywhere.

Everything is great until it is not and nobody wants to be "that guy" when it comes to such things but it is just your turn in the barrel. I am sure there is somebody on the RAM forums looking to dump their turd and come over here.

That's called a rotunda device
Interesting! I’ll have to dig into that more (I’m assuming you’re talking about rotunda.service-solutions.com ?)

I was talking about a simple old school load tester because they’re easy to get, borrow, or rent.

Oh yea, so the dealership uses a rotunda to check the battery to determine if its bad, it will print out a report they send to ford for warranty purposes, it basically does the same thing an old school load tester does but they need that printed report. Also, they need the battery in the truck, you cant just take a battery (maybe my dealership was just being a dick about it) but that's what they said. Also said it could take up to 2 hours, its just up the machine, but the newer ones should take less than 10 min. Guess they have to justify that steep price tag:

I hate all the electronics on vehicles now, it's BS.
Exactly. That's why my decision between a Ranger and getting another Grand Cherokee is leaning toward the GC. An excellent V6 that still has port injection only along with an excellent ZF trans and LOTS less nanny electronics. No carbon build up, no cam phasers rattling around in the engine. Plus Ford service departments leave a LOT to be desired. And BTW, in my 50 years of car buying my worst cars by far were Generic Motors, I had a lot of Fords and they were middle of the road reliability wise and my best most trouble free vehicles were Dodge, Ram and Jeep. And yes, Stellantis sucks. But there are still plenty Rams and Jeeps still being made that were engineered before Sellantis became this weeks owner of the former Chrysler divisions.

In the spirit of "there's no such thing as bad press", your favored Grand Cherokee is on CR's list of 10 least reliable cars for this year, along with it's sibling, the Wrangler.. Congratulations.

Consumer Reports? LOL. I also own a Maytag wasaher. What do they say about that? So you were so butt hurt that you spent some time out of your life searching and searching until you finally found a non-automotive source that doesn't like the GC. Unlike you I'm not wedded to one brand. All I can talk about are my experiences with the individual vehicles I've owned and the dealership/corporate experiences of those brands. Anyone can bad mouth a vehicle I own. Matters not to me. All that matters is how many or few times I'm at the service drive.
