I took the new Lariat on a trip this week and wanted to pass along my initial impressions.

The truck rides beautifully. I downsized from a 2008 F150 XLT that has 240k miles on it, so this was like driving a limo! It handles very well and is extremely well mannered regardless of road conditions. The steering was very precise and the truck always felt well-grounded.

I know a lot of the YouTube reviewers expressed concerns over the center stack, but that’s because they only spent a short amount of time in it I believe. Once I got used to where the main controls were, it was very easy. And the majority of the frequently used stuff is accessible using the steering wheel controls. The seats were amazingly comfortable. Never got a sore back side, even after nine hours. I didn’t notice much road noise at all.

So far, I would give it an “A” rating.

THANK YOU! All these YouTubers with 35 seconds in the car, or people who've never been in on (let alone drive one) arguing about tablet placement. I saw in an RR at the autoshow and immediately felt at home. The table isn't "too low" and I love that nothing protrudes from the dash.

Having futzed with SYNC in my friend's wife's Explorer, the system in his 2023 Tundra, numerous iterations of BMW's iDrive over the years, and my mom's Hyundai Kona...they're all acceptable and easy enough with a few hours of usage. Aesthetically I might prefer one UI/UX over another, but you can learn an adapt. Same as iOS, Android and Blackberry before it.

Too many people complain for the sake of complaining (like me here  ).

Did you track fuel economy on the trip, wondering how it did? Was the 2.3 good on the highway, smooth, quiet, enough power? Great pic (love the silver), looks like an awesome truck!! :)

I “loosely” tracked the mileage. I never reset it from delivery, but it steadily climbed as I made the trip. It was at 23.1 when I got home but I really don’t think that was completely accurate as it started at about 19 when I left. I’m making a roughly 200 mile trip tomorrow and will reset it to see what it actually gets on the highway. I thought it gave a very smooth ride, especially for a truck. I have the FX4 and was pleasantly surprised how quiet the ride was. It has plenty of power! Being new, I didn’t want to push it too much but I certainly gave her a bit of “juice” just so I could see what it was capable of.

If you are interested in MPGs... TFL did an MPG comparison video with the Ranger and other new mid-size trucks recently. They drove an XLT FX4 with the General Grabber AT tires (which appear to be more aggressive than the Goodyear Wranglers) and managed 26.0 MPG on a 110-mile loop around Denver!

Nice update. The silver looks great. I wish the medallions were black. Pickup my Cactus grey Monday. Good luck

Speaking of the center stack. I read where we can customize what buttons we want on the main screen. (https://skahaford.com/ford-sync-4-l...ap on a space to,learn more about this option.) This does not work for me , unless im doing something incorrect which is very possible. Any one else try this ? Im looking to get my "glide" button to the main screen in place of the media button. I play my music from a jump drive , not my phone.

Good report .
Its been frustrating for the last few months on this forum reading stories from our American brothers bitching how long its taking to get deliveries .
Now we start to see reports on how good these trucks actually are which confirms what we knew already but doesn't hurt to hear more say the same .
Like the color as well by the way .... good looking vehicle.

How did you find it on a longer trip compared to your F150? An 07 F150 was the best vehicle I’ve ever had & the one I shouldn’t have sold. I keep hoping that the Ranger is a modern incarnation of that vehicle. I could go buy an F150 again like so many do here, but they’re just a bit large to handle around city parking lots.

It was actually more comfortable than my F150. The seats in the Ranger are VERY comfortable. I still have the F150! It’s been a great truck and like you, I think I’d miss it!

So I made a 200 mile trip today from VA to DE. I averaged 27.8 mpg according to the trip computer. Now with that being said, I don’t expect to get that kind of range very often as I had a great tailwind and level terrain. But still, I was really surprised.

Did you hand calculate it by chance ? - one of our vehicles has been off as much as 3 MPG from what the trip computer says. (normally high by 1.5-2.5 MPG)
