I just turned 18,000 miles on my Lariat FX4. I know…no moss will EVER grow under these wheels!
Positives:
Great ride quality. I came from an 08 F150 and this truck is SO much more comfortable on road trips.
Decent MPGs. I average about 26-27 highway. Obviously the majority of my miles are highway!
Size. Coming from a full-size, this truck is much easier to park, even in tighter parking spaces.
Power. I was pleasantly surprised with the power this little 2.3 has. I was a little reluctant to go from a 5.4 v8 to a 2.3 four-banger, but no regrets so far. This (not so) little truck pulls my camper (about 3,500 lbs) with zero issues. Plenty of reserve power even when going 70 mph.
Overall Comfort. I often take 8-10 hour trips and this truck is a true pleasure to drive.
Technology. I love the tech features. The adaptive cruise control coupled with the ability to adjust the truck’s speed to the parameters I set when it reads speed limit signs.
Negatives
Ambient Lighting. This feature has to be turned on every so often. I would think that if I configure it to be on, it would stay that way. Pretty annoying.
Seatbelt Reminder. I SO wish there was a way to turn this off. I hate having to acknowledge the seatbelt status ever time I start the truck.
At the end of the day, I have to say I love this truck. Zero regrets. I hope that it is as durable and long lasting as my previous two Ford vehicles. My 08 F150 had 243k miles on it and was still problem free. I also had a 2010 Fusion that I put 420k miles on. Never had an issue. Hoping I get similar results on my Ranger.
That’s my down and dirty review. Happy Rangering to all my fellow 6G’ers
