It's True! My 2025 Ranger built 2/26 has the NEW 2.3 with dual injection and new turbo!

Just got home with my new truck. I am so stoked that it has the new 2.3 with port and direct injection and a new twin screw turbo with quicker spooling and a better low end. I can feel the difference when going from a stop and the dealer (and service dept.) knew nothing about it. All I can think is Ford didnt want to announce it and screw up the 24 sales that are in inventory. A super bonus that I didnt expect. Out with the 2017 Hemi Dodge and in with the Ranger! Forgive the bad pics as it is Pine Pollen season here in SC and everything turns yellow as fast as you can wash it!

I ordered my 2025 2.3 a month ago so I only assumed I was getting the "same ole same ole" 2.3 but pleasantly surprised that it will come with the newly revised one.

I would have parked elsewhere then. I'm pretty picky about people getting in the lines, especially in trucks. We can do better.

Is that the Mustang 222kw engine? we have had them in Australia for 2 1/2 years in the Amarok have not been available in the ranger, both vehicles are Rangers

Its the 2.3 L. I dont know what kw are.

KW (Kilowatt) is a measure of hp used in Australia. In this case 222 KW is equal to 301 hp US.

Even if they detune it a bit, the ford procal tuner will bring the numbers back up, or livernoise will put a tune out that puts the numbers back up there, and more.

The 2.3 was also used in the focus rs. Thats where i knew it from before the mustang and ranger. That car was a rocket in wheels, just like the 2.0 focus rs, only faster

The 2024 Mustang engine is 45 more hp and 40 more ft lbs of torque than the 2024 Ranger 2.3. Is this what we are getting/got?

I highly doubt they're going to tune the Ranger's 2.3 to be much more than it already is. It would negate the reason for people wanting to opt for the 2.7.

You may be correct as they had those numbers advertised long ago and may be why there has not been an announcement. This new engine is also being put in the 2025 Explorer and it is tuned to 300/310. I would be happy with that! This was stated on another site in regards to the 2025 Explorer.

"The 2.3 didn't just get port injection it's a completely new engine with the same displacement. All of the 3 and 4 cylinder ecoboosts have quietly been replaced with mpc ecoboosts of the same power and displacement but new architecture"
