So I have had my truck 2 weeks, looks like maybe a mid May build date. I noticed a bunch of loom wraps where the ends are coming undone, under the truck when I mounted my running boards. I noticed this one in the loom in the tailgate opening so I re-glued it.

Typical signs of lazy UAW working in Michigan.

The paint is so thin on mine you can see right through to the primer…

As someone that works in the class A automotive paint industry (class I OEM equipment supplier) I can tell you for certain that while a robot did paint that panel, a human being has to maintain that spray gun, and that human being IS union if they work for the big 3, and their title is "Technical Specialist". If the paint gun gets clogged or is beginning to get clogged, it is the "Technical Specalist"'s responsibility to correct the fault and flag the panel for rework or scrap.

This is 100% a failure of a human being performing quality control, which is part of their responsibility, and the union absolutly protects them from being terminated from their job.

Have a wonderful day!

That is a human failure by multiple people up and down the chain for that to have passed and been delivered.

I just have to say.. i really like my Ranger, i have an XLT and its a sold truck.... BUT there is a lot of little things like above that make me regret getting it. For the price tag on it i feel ripped off. Thin paint, gaps in trim/ moldings and i just noticed yesterday the tailgate latches are discoloring after 4 months of owning the truck

Just venting i guess

With that many failures must have been painted by the secret service

All that was probably before the Ford UAW strikes. Now that it's settled, and the workers get raises totaling 25 percent over the next four years, a reinstatement of cost-of-living adjustments and a three-year path to top wages, among other benefits, those quality issues will be a thing of the past. o_O
