If you have installed a catch can, its very simple and straightforward. The instructions leave a little to be desired for a first timer though. I have included a few pictures to help anyone along the way.
I only have a Mishimoto catch can to compare it to, but IMHO, this is built way better. The fit and finish is fantastic. The way the can screws on to the main housing is like butter. The metal parts are solid and thick. I definitely feel like I got my value for what I paid.
First thing you want to do is remove the catch can from the battery terminal mount. Once that is secure, you can attach the can assembly to that little mount. Leave the two little set screws a little loose so you can twist the can, if you need to, in order to seat the hoses around the back of the engine bay.
When removing the double ended hose on the engine, keep in mind the tabs are not a press-in-to-remove like the replacement hose connections. They are a sort of slide-off type clip. In the picture you can see I used a flat head to push it away while I pulled the hose off. For the other side I was able to get my thumb behind the clip to push and pull off at the same time. I also took off the one hose above that goes to the intake to give me a little more room to work. That is taken off by sliding the red clip off and then squeezing the grey tab. That hose just twists out of the way. I did not show a picture of that.
Once that hose is off you can attach the two hoses from the can. I started by clipping the hose to the passenger side first and routing around the back of the engine to the center attachment point on the can. Then I did the same with the hose routing to the attachment point on the side of the can. This side mount uses the hose with the check valve. Make sure the arrow on that valve is pointing away from the can as shown in the picture.
Tighten up the two set screws on the top of the catch can after you twist it to where you like it. Make sure all the connections are tight, and double check again.
FWIW, the factory hose didn't have too much oil in it after the first 1,600 miles, maybe just a misting throughout. That being said, Ill take an ounce of prevention any day.
Enjoy!
