The latest software update seems to have fixed some issues

My XLT got its first software update over the air a couple weeks ago and that seems to have fixed two complaints I had.

1) about 20% of the time CarPlay would connect without sound. I'd have to disconnect and reconnect and then it would be fine. Since the update, this has not happened once.

2) the instrument cluster's annoying warnings and messages on startup are a little less annoying. The main issue before was that the messages would switch quickly before I could hit OK. This was especially true for the "return to drive mode" message - before I could hit OK, the stupid seat belt message would come up. That doesn't seem to happen anymore.

They changed the icons too, which I guess is fine.

I had the same #1 issues as you. Drove me nuts. Knocking on wood, so far the update has resolved this issue for me too

Biggest fix for me was the hill descent control icon would not always show up off-road mode, that seems to be resolved and shows up reliably now.

I lost several icons, such as the Bluetooth and usb icons. I also lost the icon that was on the top left of the display that allowed me to switch screens with repeated taps. I’m not happy

My garage door opener started working - this was after I had spent hours on the phone with Homelink in December trying to get it to work - without success. Could this have been part of an update ?
