My 2015 GTI had an ignition coil go out at 60,000 miles, otherwise problem free. And just the other day I was behind a Genesis and thought man those look like really nice cars

Mine fits up the exact same way, I don't see any clips that would hold it up tight. Please post if the dealership can resolve.Sigh….and no it won’t just clip back up. I can actually see all the electronics through the gap behind it.
Really getting tired of having to give my brand new truck up to the dealership for days at a time

Mine fits the same, I don't see any clips that would secure it either. I had a lot of loose trim when it was delivered. let us know if the dealer can actually fix this.Sigh….and no it won’t just clip back up. I can actually see all the electronics through the gap behind it.

Thing is, its not a first year vehicle. Technically its a second year since its been out in Australia, South Africa and the Philippines for over a year now. They had a lot of issues worked out over there first. Whether its poorly made parts or parts being assembled poorly, it shouldnt be happening at this point. What's interesting - the camera, the steering and turning radius all can be fixed ( wonder why Nissan isn't laser focused on that...) But anyway this is a Ford forum. First year model for the Ranger - I think will have all bugs ironed out next year. This is unfortunately expected of a new model year. I've been purchasing Rangers my entire life. I'm sure these trucks will last a good long time. I think the difference is that $60K comes with higher expectations.
But it is new to the factory making it. They had to retool and develop workflows on the line, I'm sure all that does improve with experience.Thing is, its not a first year vehicle. It's probably not as exciting, as some of the newest models, but I know a lot of people who would consider that a good thing.Wow! That is literally the first time I've ever heard anybody complain about the Frontier. It has zero issues. It's got naturally aspirated V6, w/ plenty of pep. Rides and drives great. Shifts are smooth and consistent. And is cheaper..
Top Notch UAW quality work right there.
Question, so they strike demanding higher wages, embrace illegal immigration which indirectly lowers wages and perform the same inconsistent shitty work ?
Most of the problems like this are design problems. If the clip designed to hold the trim in place isn't designed properly or made with the correct materials the trim will never stay in place.
I haven't taken mine into the dealer for this issue yet. My rain sensing wipers don't work properly and the sensor is under this trim. They have ordered a new sensor, after it arrives I will mention the trim that covers it. Also going in this Monday to have the Doors and Hood adjusted. Two doors are misfit from the factory and the hood takes a gorilla slam to close it. I never had these kind of problems with my new German cars...what did your dealership say about the fix? Im having the same issue as well. I imagine every Ranger looks like this.
The valve issue on the 2.7 was just a bad batch of valves from the supplier. There's a guy on the F150 forum that had 460K miles on a 2.7Makes you wonder when the valves in the 2.7 engine will start popping like in the Bronco and F150
You are correct. They also fixed the carbon build up issue in 2018 with a new design and it worked great. I had the 2018 2.7 F-150 and now the 2022 F-150 2.7, Great engines! The valve issue on the 2.7 was just a bad batch of valves from the supplier. do you have a bed rug or something on your tailgate looks like the bed rug on the tail gate rubbed against the cable. You can see a indention on the black rubber part.I hear everyone on various fit & finish claims. We're all grown-ups (or we should be...), but it certainly IS frustrating when you drop $40k-$80k (depending on your model & trim) when there is STILL poor workmanship, poor quality or utter lack of HUMAN intelligence - forget AI (maybe THAT IS the very problem...).
My new 2024 XLT, loaded, has dash components that don't line up -"Sorry...not a warranty issue...". Next, showing off my new Ranger to my F-150 brother, he noticed: "Hey! Do you know that you have this (a cluster of wires & plug in the left rear wheel well) hanging down, unplugged ???" Went straight to my local dealer (who wasn't who sold me the truck). The service guy crawled underneath, "Hmmm... well this plugs in right here..." He couldn't get the plastic plug/nipple to stay plugged into its socket, so he grabbed a zip-tie strap & fastened it to the frame.
AGAIN, NOT a warranty issue. Just WHAT DOES Ford warranty anyway?? Shitty materials? Shitty design?? Shitty workmanship??
I'll go one even BETTER: great that the new Ranger has a hydraulic piston on the RH inside of the tailgate so that you can actually let go of the tailgate and it gently lowers to a stop with no "OH SHIT! I dropped the tailgate AGAIN..". But - wait... Oh, that pretty red, rubber wrapped restraining cable attaching the tailgate to the hind end of the bed - well sure looks like NOBODY bothered to measure the tolerances for the space required to accommodate BOTH the handy piston AND the red rubber-wrapped cable. NEGATIVE clearance room, i.e., the rubberized cable has to be FORCED between the side of the bed wall and the piston. Consequently, with all of 1,300 miles on my month old truck, the metal components holding the piston & the restraining cables in place are literally chewing up the rubber sheathing, exposing the metal cable strands inside.
"Oh, now THAT IS a warranty issue". Imagine my surprise!
