It was indeed that oil line. Dealer is noting the event for the vehicle history in case the turbo shits the bed. I did ask them about the turbo operation but he said oil levels were not low by much but to definitely watch it. Can’t say I’m super confident about being in a scenario where it could have done some damage that might not be realized until the end of life for the turbo and never really able to be tied back to it. My personal experience with turbo vehicles is 20+ years ago with SRT4s and WRXs etc. It is what it is at this point.

It was the oil supply line to the turbo, coming out of the cylinder head?

If so, I think it would have to be a much more substantial leak to cause enough pressure loss to cause an issue. Awesome that you caught it!

Did they indicate what was the failure point? O-ring?

I'd get an oil analysis to look for elevated levels of wear.

They said it was loose. No mention of an actual failure point. Both the tech and the service advisor spoke with me on it. I’m sure I can ask more questions when I get there to pick it up but I am still perplexed how it would come loose over time or if there was an actual failure as you said.

Hard to see with my crappy pic but this is the line going into engine. I first noticed there was less of a flush fit gap on the front side of it vs the back side of it. It actually stood out because I felt like I could catch my finger nail on the front but not the back before I even realize it was the leak point. I have to assume the o ring would be right there wouldn’t it? Wondering maybe the o-ring kept it from being worse vs a failure point on this one.

Likely, the O-ring prevented a major leak.

As far as being loose, they probably mean the bolt fastening the flange of the fitting. Maybe a minor issue with the bolt not getting torqued or Loctite and slipped through QC for that sequence of operations at the engine plant. This is why fasteners typically have paint marks to indicate the original orientation at manufacture. It's difficult to poka-yoke every facet of operations in manufacturing.

Yeah that makes sense. It kind of aligns with what I saw personally. The way the gap was on the front end seems to make sense with it not being torqued to spec. That o ring may have saved the day.
