Call me stupid, but I don’t understand the design of the battery positive terminals. How do you access the main post clamp bolt? Is it the vertical 8mm nut just inboard from the post, the yellow arrow? Do you have to remove all the hold down and plastic bits? This is not my pic:

I want to add a 24” FUSED 6 AWG cable with a 120 amp or 175 amp Anderson connector pair at the end, to connect a powerful portable MORRFlate TenSix compressor that draws 90 amps start, 50 amps running.. I don’t see any way to clamp on those huge alligator clips.

I have wired an RV with a Blue Sea Mega Fuse holder with cover, but that gets pretty bulky and needlessly complicated for a truck.

I was hoping for something simple like this but with bigger cable and fuse. Would a winch company have one?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i have never looked at mine but that picture looks like that nut might pull up a wedge to lock the clamp in place so i would assume it would also loosen the clamp by loosening that nut.

Not sure if this addresses your question but I wired straight to one of those side terminals (on the right). I used one of those large fuses that stacks vertically between the stud and the nut. Like this below. (Been using for about 6 months or so now issues)

I have used those before on an RV, to protect the hot wires coming off a pair of lithium batteries, and I quite like them, Blue Sea stuff is top quality marine grade. it is an elegant solution, did you have to cut away the red cover, and do you think the stud is OK in terms of height? It has a 3/8” terminal hole, that is a little large, Can you post a pic of your installation? Thanks,

I bent the solid straight portion of the fuse over to make it a 90° angle and then just made two small vertical slices on the red terminal cover so that it bends around it a little bit. Love the blue seas stuff i use a bunch of it. Ill have to take a picture when i get a chance i just checked and dont have one. The screenshot i sent is probably not the exact one i used.

Just checked my past order i used a 60A one and it has a 3/8” (m10) mount for the battery side and is suited for a 5/16” ring terminal on the accy side (on top of the actual fuse).

even if the battery side is a bit large the flange nuts that are already on there do a good job of holding it down and making good contact imo.

I haven't removed my battery terminal, but I believe the bolt in your photo with the yellow arrow is the correct one and the whole assembly lifts off.

I'm running the MORRFlate TenSix compressor as well, except I ran 4 AWG high current cable to an SB 120 (120A) anderson plug mounted in the tub power panel. I used a 100 amp MIDI fuse and holder (like the Blue Sea in your photos) from the battery to a 100 amp relay, connected to my AUX 6 switch. That way it's not a live cable all the time.

Then on the MORRFlate I trimmed the power cable alligator clips and connected SB 120 anderson plugs (kept the clips so I could let someone else use it if needed). I have the compressor always plugged in during trips with my x4 hoses, so I just flip the AUX 6, connect the hoses and hit run.

I'm not completely happy with the battery wiring as I also installed an Ecoflow alternator charger (also run to the tub) and the red battery cover won't stay down (previous owner also had lights installed and the wiring could be better). So I plan to install a fused distribution block, which will tidy everything up and make it safer and easier to see/access fuses when needed.

I can take photos if any of that would help.

Hello everyone.
I am looking into this as well, decided to opt for a non permanent setup with the compressor.
going for an EZFLATE CASE, and their related hoses.
I would love to be able to tap into the power supplied at the back, below the bed, used by most for the ARB compressor. If it s good enough for ARB, should be good e ought for the EZ, but need to get the plug to the bed and that should allow me to retain the use of the AUX switch as well. (Will have to clip the crocodile clamps and modify it to be able to plug it from the bed directly
What do you all think about it and do you any advice for a proper electric setup there !?
Cheers !
