Do wish Ford or GM would listen and offer a SuperCab 6-foot bed (Extended Cab for GM twins)

I was all ready to buy a 2024 to replace a '17 Colorado but just can not bring myself to live with a non-Pickup CrewCab Only 5-foot bed.

That extra foot of cargo space makes a huge difference. For example a bicycle can actually ride in the bed without removing parts. Plus smaller heavy loads can be carried in front of the rear axle.

So I've decided to start the near 100K miles big ticket services on my '17 . . . all fluids, tires, plugs, etc several thousands of dollars . . . maybe in late 2025 or 2026 I can again dream of a new truck but I'm not hopeful.

Ford or GM, I do not care, first one with a '25+ SuperCab will be getting my money. An an XLT 4x4 trim level is all I need.

Gosh, I'd even consider a 90's style/size SWB regular cab . . . . . I owed 3 between '72 and '90 . . . .

The super cab is a dyeing breed outside of fleet level trucks. Its not the companies that wont listen, its that the market doesnt want it. Super cabs are too small for most people, its why everyone is getting an SUV. Yes, there is a market for larger bed trucks and such, but the general population does not want a super cab.

Also no one cares you are having to do 100k maintenance, especially Ford. Only the companies you are buying parts from.

You’ll probably have a hard time finding a supercab like we’re common in years past, a lot of is due to gov regulations and the formulas related to emissions, along with little market demand. You won’t have to search too hard to see it for yourself. If you so dead set on a supercab ya may be better off finding an older model, restoring it, crate motor, transmission, suspension, drive on and be happy

@SubaruRaptor Part of the 'sales' problem is Dealerships stopped stocking SuperCabs because they had slightly lower profit, another is the Big 3 shifted more to comfort/luxury and decided to ignore real pick-up users.

For example when RAM re-introduced the Power Wagon, CrewCab only, city truck while true Power Wagons were one of the best hard work trucks on the market.

And Ford/GM/Ram should care that I'm investing in major service instead of using that money to buy a new truck which impacts their current profits.

Its all supply and demand... the biggest demand was and still is a full 4dr cab... its just not in Ford's best interest to build a super-cab for a small percentage...you have to remember, ford has to pay the engineers to design it, machinists to manufacture the stamping dies to stamp the sheer metal, etc etc...its just not cost effective for such a small number of trucks...

btw Toyota has a " super-cab " check then out if you want one

Hang in there; it should be coming, hopefully next year.

There is not a SuperCab coming regardless of what some boilerplate language with a market disclaimer says in the owner's manual.

If the extend cab mid size truck is your Jam, probably should be looking at a Nissan Frontier King Cab or Toyota Tacoma ExtraCab.

Ford does not care about a single customer. Their trucks will sell regardless if you buy one or not. It's not a lost sale to them, it's a rounding error.

I think you can get that configuration in a Tacoma or Frontier.

This is a tough crowd, MC, too much arguing that you’re wrong instead of acknowledging that EPA regulations were written in such a way that they make you buy heavier and heavier vehicles when you only want more utility.

In spite of the odds, I’ll be waiting until year-end to see if Ford gives us an SCab; and if not, then the 2025 Frontier SV 4x4 with Convenience will do.

It is not a single customer issue regarding non availability of the Supercab. I am another waiting for one and there are many more also waiting. Toyota or Nissan is not an option for me. I may just keep running my 02 Supercab Ranger. it is still running strong.

Even in the few other countries that did get 6G supercab configs (south africa, thailand), you can basically only buy it as a fleet truck. As soon as you start going up in trims, supercab is no longer an option and they force you into supercrew.

I don't see it coming to the USA since it's a niche config, but even if it did I wouldn't expect XLT or Lariat to exist in that configuration.

XLT Supercab is available in New Zealand.

I was a ExtraCab Guy for all my earlier trucks, Even had a '20 Ranger FX2 ExtraCab. But, with a bed extender, the 5' bed is actually Longer then 6', and being able to fit 4 Adults into the Truck makes it way more practical, plus the extra enclosed cargo space. I love my full cab, and even got the 4x4. Truck is still quick and nimble. You just have to think about the advantages like i did. It's a FANTASTIC Truck. Better that the '20, and that was a great smaller truck!
