When asking Alexa to play my favorite music she responds that a connected network is needed. I tried using my mobile Hotspot. It worked in my garage, but once on the road it stopped working. Is there any work around other than subscribing through Ford?

Are you using Alexa built in or Ford Premium Connectivity? Also, do you have Sync 4 or 4a?
Ford has done their best to make it as difficult as possible when it comes to connectivity.

To the best of my kowledge, you need to make sure that you have turned on BOTH your cell phone WIFI and Bluetooth as the Sync system MIGHT need both to operate. I dont believe you need your Hotspot - so turn it off. The bluetoth should connect your cell to the Sync when you enter the truck. WIFI enables streaming. Again, depending on your year and model, things could be different.

It must be the Ford Premium. When I bought the truck I could just say "Alexa, play my favorite music". Now if I do she says I need to be connected. I don't know what other benefits you get with the Ford Premium service so I don't think it's worth $10/mo for my Alexa playlist.
